Re: Is Barry Larkin a HoFer?
anytime there is a question of hall of famer or not,the answer has to be no. it should be a no doubt in your mind if he is a HOF,not well lets see,he did this.this and this, but he did not do this...it has to be very clear and without an arguement ,he is a HOF.....I have watched barry play here in cincinnati for years, and i would have to say while he was consistant in his career here in cincinnati,i would say no on the HALL.....VIOLATION!!!!!!!!Comment

Re: Is Barry Larkin a HoFer?
I don't know, ghm125. I watched him in Cincy too (hell, I even remember seeing him, Kal Daniels, and a couple of others at a Kids Glove game exhibition around 1985 when they were playing for Denver, the Reds AAA team at the time) and I think for the era he played in, with the exception of the juiced ball/players era (Post-Strike 1995 to Now), I think Larkin dominated at his position offensively for years. What he did from 1986-1995 both offensively and defensively was good enough in my book for the HOF. Not a first ballot but he deserves to get in.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames

I think he does. Hell,I wish the Reds would have signed him up for one more year, they look kinda thin at SS. Anyhow,I hope to see Barry be the first Black man to own the Reds.Last edited by Jackdog; 02-13-2005, 06:31 PM.NFL:Packers

I haven't seen much of Larkin because he was in the NL and I'm a Boston fan, but just by looking at the numbers I'd say he's good enough to get my vote. The only knock I can put on him is his durability which might prevent him from getting in on the first ballot, but I think he'll get enough support to make it eventually.Comment
