    Re: Question for Chicago residents.......

It's because like someone said earlier, the stadium just got lights in '88 (I think).

I lived in Western Suburbs (Berwyn and then Naperville) and we almost always took the train. Once I took Metra to Union then transferred to the L from Naperville. After that I drove to Oak Park to get on the L directly from there...much easier and faster.

it was 88 i think. However, i believe the amount of night games has more to do with the locals. And i always take the train. Much easier.

I DESPISE the Cubs(Sox fan, even though I was born and raised on the north side...I just always root for the other team), but I love going to games at Wrigley. Go figure. Day baseball has a lot to do with it(but so do the women who come to wrigley). The night games are fun as well, but I hope they always keep it primarily a day game stadium. It's unique and a huge part of the stadium's character(of which U.S. Cellular field has none).
I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

I haven't been able to put a finger on it myself. But I really don't care since I'm a life long Sox fan. Born and breed on the South Side.

Im probably a rare bread in this sense, but id rather go to the Cell over wrigley to see a baseball game anyday.

I mean if your looking for the hotter chicks, and too have a few beers while talking to people around you about anything and everything, and cheer only when Sosa comes up or a homerun is hit, then ill go to the cubs game, but when it comes to baseball, U.S. Cellular is much better

I like having the new technology and automosphere. The loud music and fireworks for the starting lineups, fireworks after homeruns, movies and highlights and games inbetween innings on the big score board.

I mean I know Wrigley has the history, and that itself for most is great automosphere, but even though most will just call me bias, ive had much more fun at us cellular field and feel there is a much better atmosphere there, than wrigley and i went to both several times last year.

I would rather go to Wrigley for the simple fact there's actually fans in the stands. There were some games at the cell last season that looked like there was nothing more than 10,000 in the stands yet the announced crowd would 22,000.

There's zero atmosphere if you only have 10 other people sitting in your section.

Youre so right Asianflow. As bad as it may have seemed last year it was much worse the year before. I make a trip to "tha Joan" once a year to see the BoSox. In 2003 we went to one game early in the season and there was no one. We went again around Sept (when the Sox were making a little run) and it seemed like there were twice as many people. When they announced the attendance at the second game there were 23,000 and I couldnt help but wonder how pathetic the attendance was the previous game. Its also worth noting that Comiskey has certain nights where you can go for like $10 if you bring an empty Pepsi bottle. As you would guess Wrigley doesnt have to resort to such gimmicry. It is alleged that Comiskey has the better food which I have no opinion on since I always eat the Hebrew Nationals w/ the carmelised onions at both places and they are basically the same except it tastes better at Wrigley because Im at Wrigley. But getting back to attendance, I think the reason interleague play is as it is, is so Rheinsdorf will sell out Comiskey at least once a year.

i avoid Wrigley by virtue of me being a Sox fan... with that said, the most fun i've had at the Cell last year was at the second Marlins-Expos game.
