Re: The 2005 Cubs(my predicted lienups)
Please god anyone but that bum burnitz. He is a white Jose Valentin. I would rather have Dubois/Hollandsworth in RF than BUrnitz. I still cant get over the fact people are crying about losing the dominican crybabies. We need real hitter not "sluggers" who K. You could argue the Cubs could make the playoffs with them but they would never win a title because in the playoffs you are facing quality pitching and youre not hitting 5 homers off #1 or #2 playoff starters. The only way they scored is by home runs and that is swag a** baseball that wins nothing. Hendry you made a great move in dumpy corky now add a "hitter" not another bum that brings the team downComment

Originally posted by posterI agree with you, but dont sign Burnitz. I guess Tampa is gonna be hardarses and insist on Carlos which is laughable. I dont see why they wouldnt accept a package of DuBois/The farns/ and a pitching prospect not named Guzman or Brownlie. That being said I would do the same thing if I were them.Comment

Re: The 2005 Cubs(my predicted lienups)
I don't care if burnitz falls off the face of the earth as long as he is not an every day player for the CUBS. If they make a push for HUFF, I will be very excited, I could see them moving walker or hairston for him, maybe some prospects.
I am ambivalent about Patterson, I hope he can play like he did in the first half two years ago. If they keep him, I think the team may go as he goes, ya know? Having Lofton at the end of 2003 was big, we saw what that kind of guy can do for a team, i hope we have someone to do that this year.
Does Hairston play the OF? Walker can.
C-Barrett
1B-Lee
2B-Walker/Hairston
3B-Ramirez
SS-Garciaparra
LF-Patterson/Walker
CF-Hairston/Patterson
RF-Huff (please, god, not burnitz)
My other question is, when are we going to see some of the Cubs farm system? For about three+ years now all I have heard is what a great farm system the Cubs have, but we see no product. Well, we see Dontrelle Willis, and a year of E.Hinske, and a bit of a bust in Juan Cruz. Where is DuBois, Kelton, Pie, Guzman etc. etc. I don't like a philosophy of trading off all your young talent or stagnating them for patchwork pieces (even if some of those pieces are very good). I would like to see soem young guys on the bench for a good part of the year, DuBois will likely be there.
I know one thing, it is becoming quite exasperating being a Cubs fan, but it is almost worse knowing that I cannot stop.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment
