Ok, I'm no Farnsworth fan, but WTF? Are any of these prospects even promising? It's not like our bullpen was good to begin with, but now it's even weaker.

From what I heard they could've gotten more for Farnsworth but...well maybe they want to cut MORE payroll....tough playing in a small market..

Ok, I'm no Farnsworth fan, but WTF? Are any of these prospects even promising? It's not like our bullpen was good to begin with, but now it's even weaker.

Those prospects are middle of the road at best. Definately not top 3-5 in the system on any of them. Then again...Tigers have traded those type of prospects before and they have been OK....cough...John Smoltz...cough.

Good move by the Tigers.

With 4 of 5 Starters very young, being able to hand the ball to Farnsworth to Ugi to Percivel is a pretty good deal. That is unless they move Ugi now and let Farnsworth play Set-up.

Those prospects are middle of the road at best. Definately not top 3-5 in the system on any of them. Then again...Tigers have traded those type of prospects before and they have been OK....cough...John Smoltz...cough.

Looks like the Cubs have a lot of faith in Dempster. Looks like Hawkins and Dempster will be carrying the bullpen.

Farnsworth's a quality player all though he blew up a few times last year.

With Farnsworth, I expect the Tigers to shop around Ugi. I would love to see the Jays go after him although I'd be worried Ugi isn't focused on Baseball. I know his mom is still kidnapped.

Here is some info on the prospects.

Scott Moore 3B 21 years old, Bats Left, was the Tigers' firstround pick in 2002 and moved from ss to 3B in 2003. At Lakeland in 391 at bats he hit .223 with 14HRs 56RBIs in 118 games. Considered to have an excellent glove. He struck out 125 times though.

Roberto Novoa, RHP, 25 years old and stands at 6-5 was acquired by the Tigers from the Pirates in the deal for Randall Simon. Has an excellent fastball and hard slider. Before pitching in 16 games for the Tigers last year he posted a 7-0 record for Erie with a 2.96 ERA however was smoked in his short stint with them. Will be able to strike out people but needs offspeed pitch to help offset power pitches

No info on Bo Flowers.

exactly...we needed bullpen help, especially if we're not adding a starting pitcher (though I still think Rondell White could be headed out of Detroit for a pitcher come spring training)
