There was like a one month overlap between Jose and Nomar's careers in Boston though. Canseco was in Boston from '95 to '96, and Nomar joined the team at September callups, right? So, what's the deal? And wasn't it even before the '01 season when the big boom started over how ripped Nomar was?

Nomar's physique is somewhat legendary. It's always of course been attributed an intense workout regiment.

For the last week or 2, I've read a few internet reports that said Canseco will name a high-profile player who no one would expect in his book. I'm guessing that guy was Nomar.

I know that Canseco is out to make some quick money on this entire thing, but it's interesting to me nonetheless. It seems like the steroid problem in baseball could be even worse than I first suspected.

Well, it's been a while since I'd seen the cover. I do remember it getting a good deal of attention at the time. But looking at it again, he doesn't appear to be quite as hulked-up as I'd thought.

why would Canseco just make up someone who was using them? To sell books? No...........He had first hand knowledge and people will talk about his credibility, but I believe him.

Yeah, that was my first thought when I read this about Nomar. Of all the players that Jose has crossed paths with, why would he just randomly pick someone like Nomar? Yeah, it makes sense that he could or would name the likes of McGwire, Giambi, and the bombers he played with in Texas, but someone like Nomar who is known more for his ability to hit the ball than for his homerun prowess? I mean, it's a perfect example of what has already happened in all the Balco ordeal. You have players like Giambi and Bonds being blasted, but at the same time you do have weaker hitters like Marvin Bernard, Randy Velarde, and Benito Santiago being named. Why should those names be overlooked simply because they haven't went out and had MVP seasons where they hit 50+ homers?
