XM for baseball?
Anyone planning on getting XM to listen to baseball for the upcoming season? I will be. I was planning on getting one of the units you can use at home or in the car but now am wondering if I'd be better off getting the MyFi so I can listen anytime, anywhere.Tags: None -
Re: XM for baseball?
I'm planning to buy a MyFi. I just wish it was maybe 100 dollars cheaper."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: XM for baseball?
I have a friend at Best Buy who would get it for me, so I'm not as worried about price. Not sure how much he gets the MyFi for but he gets the SkyFi 2 for $60...which is more than 50% off so I'm hoping he'll be able to save me at least 50% off the MyFi.
My only concern now is I've been reading reviews of the MyFi. While they're ok sounds like it could still use some work.Comment

I dont see why ANYONE would pay for radio. You can pretty much pick up any team you want to hear on the AM band.Comment

People aren't paying for radio. They are paying for the service being provided by the satellite radio provider.
That's why people pay money to get cable. Why would anyone pay for tv they can get for free?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Once upon a time people didn't pay for TV and didn't know why people paid for cable when it was introduced. Satellite radio is experiencing the same thing right now. People pay for the 'premium' that they can't get with their current service--whether it's cable TV or satellite radio.
Does your family pay for cable TV? I ask you the same question then...why do you pay for cable TV when you can get network TV free?Comment

Re: XM for baseball?
I have absolutely loved my XM radio. I've had it for over a year now with no problems. They have continually added new content, and most of the new stuff they have added has been free. Baseball this year is a big bonus for me. They also added Big 10 and ACC basketball and football games for no extra charge last year. Best thing I've ever bought. I got one for my parents and they are hooked as well. The only thing it doesn't have is NPR, but I find it has been a great value.Comment
