I’m not thrilled about the Mets playing on espn opening day. Instead of hearing the best booth in baseball I’m stuck listening to a rod. They have a pretty absurd winning percentage on opening day, 39-20 and that includes losing their first eight openers so hopefully they keep up their winning ways

This is the third straight opening day the Padres will see Madison Bumgarner as the opposing pitcher.

Also, time to cry tears of joy, baseball is back.

would sound like Sony got stuck rotating the Padres schedule, if Bumgarner weren't a D'bag

“The Green Fields of the Mind”

          A. Bartlett Giamatti

It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.
          Welcome back baseball!

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The first time in a long time that there is no pressure on the Dodgers to win a World Series. The quest to repeat begins.

Obviously Jays had one of bigger FA in baseball this season, but those injuries sure suck. Fans hoping this could be like the late 80s Jays, but we all know what happened the last time the Jays had a shockingly huge offseason. 2013 ring any bells?

And not being at home again will definitely suck. Rogers Centre doesn't get packed very often (ticket prices aren't worth it for the average fan to watch a non playoff team most of past 25 years), but when its packed, it's a huge home field advantage.

Every game feels like a road game again, hopefully they can get around the 90 win mark.

I wouldn't say there's no pressure. They're the faves to win this year, have an insane payroll, and a beyond loaded rotation.

Sure, if they don't win, they can be like "we just won already", but I think it's still a disappointment if they don't given the team they have.

the real pressure in LA is across the way in Anaheim. and the Dodger may not be feeling pressure at the moment but you can bet they will be hearing it from other fanbases they won the 2020 World Tournament, winning in a 2 month tournament is not the same as winning in a 6 month season. unless the standards are lower in LA, I'd say that piece of metal Manferd handed them is worth a third of what this years championship means. but that 2020 trophy is still worth more than the ones in 2017 & 2018 combined lol

Every team had the same chance of winning that WS. It wasn't as if the Dodgers played less games and had it handed to them.

In regards to no pressure, I am referring to the curse of 1988. That is no more. This team now knows how to win the WS, so they are no longer chasing.

I kind of agree in this. No disrespect. But if the Yankees won it all last year I would have been happy. But it's not the same without fans. It's just not as special. Feel that way about the Lakers and this years college champions too.

that much, there is no disputing. I'm contrasting the worth of the 2020 WT to other real World Series. I'd put the 2020 championship more on par to the championships of the 1870's and 1880's

and it isn't, for me, about the amount of fans, as the amount of season. don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Dodgers-Rays series immensely, but the journey to get there was sorely lacking. and that isn't the fault of the players, unlike the 2017 & 2018 ''ch*mpi*nship''. it just is what it was
