The way things are going, the Mets will make the playoffs, one of Giants,Dodgers,Padres,Brewers,Cubs won't.

I guess if anyone wants expanded playoffs, they should hope the NL East winner has less wins than the best team who didn't get a WC spot.

Mets are projected for 91 wins, but Padres are projected to be the team to miss it with 92 wins.

Cleveland in the AL is projected for 89 wins and miss the playoffs. Not unheard of at all, but there definitely is a case for MLB to expand to 6 playoff teams.

Other than Conforto, I’m really not that excited forthe other regular starters coming back off the IL. This group plays much better defense and seems to hit better with men n base. Billy McKinney has been a great pickup. Hopefully they can pull Peterson before he gets to the inning where he has a meltdown. Some nights it’s the 2nd or 3rd inning, others it’s the 8th

        Jays score 18 last night.

Have 1 hit after 6 in this one...

And this might be one of the Jays best games out of one of their starters all season long too. Hopefully they dont waste it.

I’m normally not an advocate for pulling a pitcher with a shutout going and a pitch count in he seventies, but good move getting Peterson out on a high note

I'm sure its happened more times than I think, but when was the last time a team got shutout by the same team they scored 15+ runs on the game prior?

And Jays finally score a run just to lose the game in walk off fashion. Their 2nd walk off loss of this series.

I wonder what the Mets record would be if they were able to play Colorado 19 times instead of any other NL East team.

The Padres fans also couldn't be too sour in that hypothetical because their team just lost the season series to the Mets this past week.

I think too many fans, not saying you do, look at wins only and don't actually evaluate these teams and understand a 90 win team could be much better than a 95 win team. There are too many variables in baseball to sit here and stare at records only and make changes based off of that.

If a team cannot win their division, they have no leg to stand complaining about being "cheated" a playoff spot, in my opinion. Win your division and don't leave your fate to depend on anything else.

The divisions are all structured so differently from one another in terms of talent, so comparing records 1 to 1 doesn't work for me. The NL East isn't a great division at all, but the teams in it don't have the luxury of playing a Colorado 19 times. You can counter it and say they also don't have to play a Dodgers or SF 19 times either, and I agree, but that's just another example of why you can't compare records across divisions all too well.

If you can't win your division I have zero desire to listen to any argument your team could make as to why they deserve to be in the playoffs. Wild card spots should not be used as pity spots to let in even more teams into the playoffs. Even though the Braves benefitted directly from last year's expanded playoffs, I have zero desire to see the MLB ever expand the playoffs anymore. I hate how practically every American major sports league wants to have over half of their teams make the postseason each year. It's silly. I always loved how few of the 30 teams made it in the MLB. That's just me, though.

The Padres are in a rough slump offensively. If we don't make the playoffs its because they couldn't take care of teams like the Pirates in April/May, not because they lost the season series to the Cubs

                    /Brewers/Mets.

Fortunately there's still more than 81 games left in the season.

                      Jays vs Yankees in Buffalo.

Their one Buffalo series where it won't feel like a home series.

Luckily it sounds like August and September could be in Toronto, and if Jays are in playoff picture, that could be the difference maker.

I'd like to thank the Pirates for giving up a grand slam in the first inning so I don't have to keep track of the game tonight.

                          God I hope so.

This city needs to see Vladdy Jr. rake live and in person. The dome will be rocking!!!

Not to mention, everyone goes on about Rogers Centre being such a hitter friendly park, but we haven't really seen Vladdy there for a full/proper season. He came up in the controversial "service time delay" for his rookie year, so fans here haven't seen him in any major or meaningful game yet.

I don’t want to steer this in a wrong direction nor do I want someone to think I’m taking shots at anyone but I just genuinely curious why the Jays are having to continue to wait return to Toronto?

Didn’t tge NHL return to Canada?

                              Again genuinely curious
