An interesting next few games for the Jays.

Tomorrows game is unfortunately YouTube exclusive. Too bad they haven't come to any agreement like allowing games to air free worldwide on YouTube, but NOT blacking it out in the home markets. So at least fans who aren't in those markets would be able to check out the game.

And then Thursday, it's a rather unusual Canada Day game from "Buffalo, Ontario, Canada". I wonder what the attendance will be like for that game. It's a day game, but obviously not a holiday for the fans attending.

Vladdy has many highlight reel plays at 1B this season.

Not talking about balls hit to him, I mean balls thrown to him (specifically from Bo).

Maybe this is really why he wanted to play at 3B. Less stressful.

Jays offense learning their lesson. How do you prevent the bullpen from blowing games? Score 7+ a game.

Jays about to win their 8th game in their last 9. 5 of those games they've scored 7+.

What I hate about the division, before this hot stretch, they were 8.5 back of 1st. As of now, they're still 6.5 back.

4 different players have 50+ RBIs for the Jays and it's not even July yet. That's never happened before. And Hernandez has 1 more game to become the 5th guy! Many teams dont even have 2.

 Scoring runs (and preventing runs) is the name of game, and the more homers you hit, the more runs you score. You optimize your approach at the plate to get as much homers as you can while balancing that with your on-base percentage. So again, who cares about check swings, that's my point.

Your post only said that Smoltz was saying swinging for HR's makes it harder to check your swing and nothing more. He isn't wrong which was my point. If there was more to his quote you didn't provide that information. You said he was complaining again, but if all he was saying was swinging hard makes it harder to check the swing then I don't see a single thing wrong with his statement.

Oh, I noticed that from your first reply to me, taking my post at face value. You could deduce regarding Smoltz: "but I don't think he meant that at all and I think you know that" but you couldn't imply what I meant.

The DBacks went 3-24 in June, the worst month of any team since the 2012 Astros also went 3-24 in June.

THIS is YouTubes coverage?!

No actual commentators, just the studio guys talking over it, and you can barely hear any game sounds.

This is horrible.

I like the commercial break where they just showed baseball clips during it, but that's the only thing I like about it.

Essentially you're doing what you're accusing Smoltz of and complaining just to complain? At least him saying it's hard to check swing when you swing harder is something that is a matter of fact. You still haven't really made clear what point you're trying to drive home. I know you brought up that runs are the name of the game, but that has zero to do with hard swings making check swings more difficult to perform.

Coming into tonight, Atlanta's offense ranked 12th in runs per game. They have now scored 20 runs twice in 79 games.

The Angels are the first team in the modern era to allow 7+ runs in the first and score 7+ runs in the 9th to win a ballgame.

Once you get past the first three starters they have nobody that can consistently give them innings and they don’t really push the good starters past 85-90 pitches so the bullpen is overworked. Add in the fact that they can’t hit and this team is a disaster when deGrom, Strowman, or Walker don’t pitch.
