Re: 2021-2022 Hot Stove Thread
I mean I guess they’ve changed directions since hiring a new GM but yeah giving St Louis money to take Arenado then signing Bryant is a head scratcherComment

From way back in this thread:
I really think Freeman is just waiting on the Padres to move Hosmer so he can go there. It's just about perfect for him.Comment

The Orioles are trash but man Camden Yards must be experienced. Underrated.

Re: 2021-2022 Hot Stove Thread
I wonder what the Jays next move could be. Rotation is fine, IF for now is fine (Ramirez price might drop by the deadline, but we'll see), only things I could see them needing are an extra arm in the bullpen and a backup left handed hitting OF.
Jansen has been rumored, and I wonder if they'd be more willing to go after him now given that they no longer need to hold back on spending since they're not signing Freeman or Schwarber, so if they want, they could fit Jansen in on a front loaded deal.
Backup OF wise, Dickerson would be an easy option due to familiarity.
Or Conforto would be an option too. If they were interested in Schwarber for OF/DH, maybe Conforto could be similar. Split time between OF and DH with Hernandez?
That's Seth "Freakin" Brown to you.Comment

Re: 2021-2022 Hot Stove Thread
Didn't see if it was mentioned anywhere else but Kris Bryant's contract with the Rockies also has a no-trade-clause....which I am sure he will be able to hold as leverage against the Rockies when things inevitably go south
The Rockies just have absolutely no direction right now. Very strange that they held onto Stroy/Gray at the deadline and now replaced their last big contract 3B with a slight downgrade (I love KB but Arenado's glove makes him more valuable)Chicago Cubs
Michigan Wolverines

Agree. Was in Baltimore for a customer visit last summer. Everything beyond RF is incredible and is bucket list worthy. The centerfield momentum park was great as well.

Is Boog Powell still running his BBQ stand? He was serving pit beef sandwiches and signing autographs when I was there in summer '09.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: 2021-2022 Hot Stove Thread
I was there in late July and they said they had something planned for his 80th birthday. He hadn’t been to a game since the pandemic, and it sounded like that was going to be his return to the park. The stand on Eutaw St was alive and wellComment

Re: 2021-2022 Hot Stove Thread
Carlos Baegra (who has correctly reported things like Berrios extension, Gausman signing, Chapman deal, but was wrong on Freeman) puts Jays getting Ramirez by opening day at 80%.
Now that they have Chapman, and didnt move a top prospect, they could afford to deal an IF.
I wonder if Cleveland would want something like Biggio and Moreno. No reason to give up Manoah as they need a stacked rotation to be a complete team. Moreno will hurt to lose as he's their top prospect and a catcher (their weak spot), but putting your team over the top as WS faves for years to come is harder to turn down.
And besides, what vet catcher wouldn't want to catch the pitchers they have and hit in the lineup they'd have as well?Comment
