Monty has to be the most underrated pitcher in the game, he just some how freakishly doesn't get wins when he starts I guess Bader is for defense only now Gallo gone they needed another outfielder

Monty is a good addition for the Cardinals. Good mid rotation kind of guy. It's a curious decision. Bader is young and fast. Yankees have been stealing alot more.

This is kind of a trade out of nowhere though. Wasn't on anyone's radar.

San Diego is paying down the entire Hosmer contract save for the minimum -- paying about $44 M to Boston


I'm more into this deal now. Doesn't affect money at all.

And after watching Christian Vazquez's presser and seeing him today during BP, I'd be shocked if he doesn't come back in free agency.

I think Bader is to replace Gallo for defense only. and will just come into games with a lead late for that. he also is a terrible hitter with a OBP of only 300. but still a upgrade over Gallo none the less.
