And then the super playoffs could be called the post playoff season, or postseason for short!

I think we might be on to something. Quick, someone contact the PA reps.

            Re: MLB Lockout

I dunno what the obsession if with more playoff teams.. look at the NFL Steelers and eagles didn't belong in the playoffs and got killed.

and with baseball it is more random bad teams beat good teams all the time and you have a case of a 60 game 2020 season where miami get in (and would not have on a real season lets be real) and under 500 Houston would get in

            Lets take last year now
Blue Jays -- yeah that is a good team that should have been in but the next Seattle.. ok that is fine as well those 2 teams would be nice in the playoffs. and the As had 86 wins... the rest were under 500.

the NL Here is your problem right here
Phillies get in on 82 wins and the reds with 83.
every other NL team is under 500.

You see the good and bad points here with more playoff teams??? it is so random there is no need for it. and teams won't go for it as much as well because you can get in winning 82 games.

Last year I calculated the average win total per seed since the 2nd WC was introduced in 2012.

The 6 seed average for the AL was 88 and NL was 86.

This year we did get the 6 seed in the AL at 91 and NL at 82, but on average you do see a mid to high 80s win total for that seed.

and I think the Wild card has won the world series twice in the the 8 yeas to it's been there (not counting 2020 with this) . Giants in 2014 and Nats in 2019.

There are lots of Pros and Cons. I mean how a 101 win team had to play a road playoff 1 game sudden death is a problem as well.

I hate thinking that the playoffs are going to be expanded, yet it is inevitable if the Union wants 12 teams and the owners 14 *pukes*

                    Guess I was in denial.

                    What a ****ing disaster.

And right now, the owners are refusing to move off of 14.

Don't worry, soon enough one side will "cave" and "compromise" and give the other side the playoff number they want in exchange for an actual demand.

I like that the players came out and said no expended playoffs this year if the season doesn’t start on time.

                            Re: MLB Lockout

So we still aren’t any closer to baseball. Owners: we are negotiating in good faith. Everything in this proposal is non-negotiable.

I guarantee you the owners are told to not cave until a certain day. They know that they can sacrifice some games to make more money over the next 4-5 years.

I can see baseball starting in May or June. Owners probably think they can give up April games cause there are smaller crowds anyway with the weather and kids still in school. Guarantee they won’t want to miss any summer games.

Fans should boycott baseball this year.

Manfred is probably telling them that. I heard on sports radio in Chicago and I missed the first part of it but they said the owners can’t even agree with each other on some of the issues. Maybe they are realizing that Manfred isn’t a leader.
