Agree 100%. One of the things that makes baseball special is that the regular season matters moreso than in any other major American sport. But it isn't about the product, it's about maximizing profit.

14 teams will work once MLB goes to 32 teams, but for now 12 is fine.

6 seed right now is projected for 88 wins in the AL and 90 wins in the NL.

Obviously things will change, but that is still a good number to make the playoffs.

I haven't watched much this year, but this Braves team is terrible...good thing they won last year. I keep seeing writers say "Braves are unlucky"...nah, they are just terrible.

Yankees don't like the Os changes to their ballpark, and seems like the Os own guys might agree too (at least hitters).

I know it's an unpopular opinion in baseball, but I dont like how different ballparks are from each other. Don't get me wrong, I like things like the green monster, and I liked the old CF hill for the Astros and all that, but I never liked just how drastically different some parks can be, and things like statcast really shows you the true picture when certain hits could be home runs or probably a double in many other ballparks

Oh no, Scherzer just threw a slider and immediately called for the trainer and left the game

The Pirates actually scored runs tonight and Keller got a win. I might play the lottery tomorrow.

They’re saying Scherzer has a side injury, which while it could be a lengthy stay on the IL is better than a serious arm injury. Unfortunately I still have a lot of distrust for how the organization handles injuries despite the Wilpons being gone so I’m expecting an announcement that he got an MRI and it turns out he has a side injury and they also found out he needs Tommy John

Yea that sucked. Took 3 outta 4 though. So that's good. And they kept fighting. Can't win them all. Bullpen had one of its first real implosions this year. It happens.

What a weird moment in the Astros game.

Rangers have a runner on 1B. They pop one up to 2B, the runner on 1B doesn't bother running since it's an out, so he stays at 1B. Except the Astros intentionally let the ball drop, throws to 1B, then tags the runner, to get the inning ending double play.

Except that isn't the actual rules of baseball. The umps had to talk it over and realized that the Astros got the out at 1B and then tagged the runner. Meaning the runner who was tagged while standing on 1B was the lead runner so he's allowed to stay at 1B.

If the Astros tagged the runner and then stepped on 1B, it would've been a double play.
