Reds grounds crew can’t get tarp to cover entire infield due to rain on tarp.

Third base dirt has standing water and it’s flat pouring.

Reds up 7-0 in bottom of 7th … just call the game.

Never realized the Angels are on a 12 game losing streak!

They were 10 games above .500 and in 1st in the WC. Now they're 2 games under .500 and 1.5 games back of the last WC

Despite playing in a "Little League Park", the Yankees pitching staff has yielded the lowest number of homeruns in the majors (38). They have played 30 of their 54 games at Yankee Stadium thus far.

The Mariners have given up the most bombs as a pitching staff with 75, just to see the other end of the spectrum

Just wait until they play the good teams.

4th easiest schedule so far, but 5th toughest remaining schedule (only AL team with a tougher one is the Os).

Funny thing is that Trout is posting some of his worst numbers since 2014....the season he won MVP for the first time.

The point about Joe Maddon is that he's basically just a guy. An interesting guy to talk to for sure, but as a manager he's nothing special. And I'd argue that most (all?) baseball managers are in that same category so this is not a dig at him (although you can find some rather pointed comments in my posting history for sure). A poor manager can mismanage the team into the ground but it is tough to do better than the roster at hand.

After Tampa Bay and then Chicago in 2016, Maddon could do no wrong whatsoever. Then things got lackadaisical (who needs batting practice?), the team cratered and he was banished to Anaheim where things haven't been better despite having a pair of generational talents and a large budget. Granted those generational talents struggle to stay healthy.

Arguably, you can give Friedman and Epstein much of the credit for Maddon's early career successes, just as you can give Epstein and Eppler/Angels new guy much of the credit for Maddon's late career slump.

Maddon has been a bit of an innovator, but he's not a savant and his in-game tactics often leave something to be desired. Maddon is not a total schmuck either. Being on an L12 is sort of ridiculous though.

That seat got hot quick for Joe. Not been a good week for the Average Joes.

Baseball managers/coaches really only impact games in 2 ways.. making the lineup and managing the bullpen.

Joe was/is notoriously bad at both. He nearly cost the Cubs the 2016 title with how he used Chapman, and his decisions to put Schwarber and Happ at the top of the order in each of their first full MLB seasons ended up with both being demoted after 2 months. Maybe they both get demoted anyway, but having them hit leadoff was an awful choice

I'm not sure Nevin is the answer though. But at least he isn't a 3B coach.

It’s not fun to ROOT for someone to get fired but something had to be done.

The biggest hope is that now the batting order can be consistent. Maddon seemed to change way too much on a daily basis, platooning way too many dudes and giving guys bizarre random days off (one of which was Trout, when he was hot and they had the next day off!)
