That was not a routine play he made in the 9th…and he made it look easy. He’s turned into a tremendous major league player and if they let him walk a year after letting Freddie walk…yikes.

The Mets are probably going to end up with the 4th best record in baseball and it feels like they “ collapsed”. Atlanta record has been ridiculous since June. Any idea what it’s been?

76-32 (.704 win%) for Braves since June 1.

Mets went 63-44 in same span which is the 6th best mark in the majors.

Atlanta is just better. Mets have no shot if Max and DeGrom don’t dominate.

The Mets route to WS just became San Diego, LA and then Atlanta… good luck.

It’s not a collapse but I imagine it is demoralizing for that team and that fan base.

I wonder if Dansby being in the "2nd tier" of upcoming free agent shortstops makes a reunion with the Braves more likely. You'd have to think that Correa/Xander/Trea are really going to clog up the market until all 3 are signed, perhaps he is more likely to quickly resign with the Braves instead of waiting for his market to develop.

Have the Braves made any offers? I haven't been following his contract news closely so I don't know where the issue is. He could have bet on himself and he has raised his value a lot.

Don't know who his agent is but he doesn't seem like a person that will just go sign anywhere with the top offer. He could be out of the price range the Braves want to spend but who knows what they are thinking.

The Mets just went 14-10 against Chicago, Miami, Washington, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee in September. They definitely choked some. They look like a team that isn't used to being in the mix this late in the year and ran out of gas.

I'm not a fan of a huge deal for Dansby. I love the kid but he's been a 3 WAR player with lower ISO and k/BB ratios with a BABIP 50 points higher than normal...defense is great still but I see a regression and likelyhood of an overpay.

I know its not the reason Mets fans are upset, one change I'd want in the playoff format is the 3rd division winner not guaranteed a top 3 seed. Maybe 4th at worst so they still get home field, but Mets being several games better than Cards, but facing the 5 seed on the path to play the 1 seed in the LCS seems a bit rough when the real 4 seed gets to play 6 and then 2.

Yeah. I wonder if a team who misses out on the "big 3" would take a gamble on him and give him a bigger deal after his breakout this year. I guess that would be a reason to wait it out if he doesn't think the Braves will meet his price. Regardless I think it's clear his market depends a lot on the other SS
