The way the MLB is officially hyping it up, they're just going full on about it being the AL record

Yea true I never thought of that for some reason. All those guys that broke Maris record were in the NL. McGwire, Bonds, Sosa.

Jays vs Yankees in ALCS please

Jays closing in on MLB history. Their 50/50 jackpot is close to 2m, which would be a record.

If I win...I'm getting season tickets.

A split screen to show Schneider throwing up four fingers as Judge walks up to the plate. LOL. That's got to be a first.

Walking Judge with 3B open in extras paid off.

                    Jays walk it off!

Predictable. That's a tough thing to get through the heart of the order for Clarke. I would of walked Vlad but whatever.

The extra inning runner rule is just such a unfair thing if you're the road team. Not gonna complain too much because the Yankees have like 16 walkoff hits so they've obviously benefited from it. So I don't wanna sound like a sore loser.

                      Thankfully that's off for October.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about walking Vlad. Wouldn't you rather pitch to Kirk in that situation then Vladdy even though Kirk has had a great season?

I'm really old school and will never understand how the leadoff hitter doesn't bunt the runner over to third in the situation where you just need a run and the runner starts at second base. I know it's Springer leading off but still. Bunting really is a lost art.

They can't bunt lol its amazing how many players can't bunt. Alot of guys just stab at it. It is a lost art. Yankees have definitely done it more then they have in years past. But it's not like they are great at it lol

And yea I'd much rather pitch to Kirk. Just because it's Vladdy.

After 4 decades of following the Blue Jays, I'm finally going to see them play in Toronto for the 1st time... and it'll almost certainly end with the Yankees celebrating a division title and Judge hitting his 61st/62nd HR, LOL.

If the Cards' magic number is 3, then sweeping the Brewers would be sufficient, right? Each STL win *and* MIL loss would reduce the magic number by 1.

                                Is it though?

I've gone back and forth on who actually benefits from it.

The road team bats first in a scenario with a higher chance to drive in a run and take the lead. And if they do score, they now know how to pitch/defend to make sure the other team doesn't score to tie or win. So the home team batting from behind seems like a disadvantage to me.

But on the flip side, if the road team doesn't score, the home team now knows they just need 1 to win the game and could just focus solely on moving up the runner.
