I think the Padres Yankees trade is gonna be great for both sides. King is filthy. Glad to see it. He was the one guy I didn't want to trade. But it had to be done.

I think the Padres Yankees trade is gonna be great for both sides. King is filthy. Glad to see it. He was the one guy I didn't want to trade. But it had to be done.

He's looked pretty bad this year up until his last 2 starts. Leads the league in HR's given up, velo down. But his stuff has been breaking a lot lately. Vasquez looked pretty good last time out, Brito has been meh. Higgy sucks. Thorpe at least lead to Cease who has been amazing. Trade will only work out if King/Cease/Soto all sign extensions.

At least for me, it reminds me somewhat of Alex Gordon's debut. And think I have made this story before, but before Gordon's 1st at-bat they gave him a standing ovation and I got a bit choked up

The trivia question answers for "Who got the first hit and HR off of Paul Skenes" are looking pretty good to confuse people years down the road - The hit was Miles Mastrobuoni and the HR was Nico Hoerner.

Looks like Steele doesn't have it today. Cubs will have to get back in this against the Pirates pen. Guessing Skenes will probably go 5 and qualify for the W.

Edit: Nope. Done in the 5th after back to back hits to start the inning.

Skenes is going to take an extra 2 ER hit after leaving the game as Nicolas completely loses the zone and walks in 3 Cubs. Cubs walking their way right back into the game at 6-4.

That's almost not fair.

Fleming walks another in and gives up an infield single to Tauchman. It's tied 6-6 and the tarp immediately comes out.
