Re: Tiger's Release Sanchez
Sanchez was signed by the D-Rays today.
The Devil Rays signed outfielder Alex Sanchez on Saturday, MLB.com reported. The Tigers released Sanchez last Tuesday. The outfielder hit .322 with 19 steals in 79 games last season. Sanchez is expected to take over in center and move Carl Crawford to left field. Crawford also occupies the leadoff spot, but Sanchez isn't going to move Carl out of there. -

Re: Tiger's Release Sanchez
This is a good no risk signing for the Devil Rays, if he does well then great, if not they can always let him go when Rocco Baldelli comes back. As the link above stated Sanchez will move Crawford back to LF but, not out of the leadoff spot. to me the best possible lineup for the Rays should be:
LF Carl Crawford
2B Jorge Cantu
RF Aubrey Huff
DH Josh Phelps
1B Travis Lee
SS Julio Lugo
3B Alex Gonzalez
C Toby Hall
CF Alex Sanchez
Looks good to me. Anyway, with the retirement of Roberto Alomar and Jorge Cantu taking over at 2B this should pave the way for another former Tiger to make the Devil Rays roster, IF Shane Halter is now the most likely candidate to take over the Utility Infield role. Halter has had a pretty good spring batting .350, his only real competition Luis Ordaz is batting .067.Comment

Re: Tiger's Release Sanchez
Cool, he's my only base-stealing threat and there's no one else available in my league.Comment
