Get ready for this to be a common theme for the Cards this year…the pitching staff got destroyed

I can't wait to pay $500 a month on my Rogers cable bill.

Serious overpay. They should have signed him like three years ago.

It's funny how things turn around in baseball. I remember when the Jays under previous ownership couldn't wait to get rid of first baseman Carlos Delgado's contract when he was like 31/32 and he was a much better hitter in my opinion than Vlad. I'm still mad he didn't end his career as a Blue Jay.

Who wants some A ball updates?

Follow baseball results with FREE box scores, pitch-by-pitch strikezone info, and Statcast data for Blue Jays vs. Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium

Dunedin Blue Jays currently up 18-2.

The crazier story, they've drawn 22 WALKS.

Multiple guys have drawn 4 walks in this game, every Dunedin batter has reached base at least twice in this one

6 of the 7 pitchers from Jupiter have walked at least 3 batters.

It's minor league baseball so it's not comparable, but just for anyone wondering, the MLB record is 19.

Surely this has to be some MiLB record.

I looked at that boxscore. Dunedin had 15 walks before the end of the end fourth inning. It wasn't like the Jupiter manager was sleeping. He used seven pitchers and no Jupiter pitcher issued more than five walks.

Dunedin also issued 10 walks for a grand total of 32 walks. I feel like I need to see video to determine if the pitchers were that wild or the umpire had the tightest strike zone in history.

I can't imagine how painful it would have been to watch that game.

The Hammerheads stadium looks decent enough. I'm sure with a few trips to the concession stands, I'd be fine.

However, the prospect of watching a game like that while stone cold sober in say, Tropicana, sounds like a fate worse than death.

Jays opening the schedule with 20 games in 21 days is absolutely wild. i remember the old pre-wildcard days when you'd have like two off days a week in April because MLB recognized attendance was fickle in April. I guess you have to pack them in because there are so many playoff games now but 20 games in 21 days seems excessive.

After Nick Castellanos got a platinum sombrero yesterday, I had to check my stock portfolio and see if I hit the jackpot.

                        Surely somebody out there did.

Speaking of Jays, that ump scorecard is something. +2 for Boston in a 4-3 game. How long until they fully implement ABS/challenges?

Also, I'm surprised at the call accuracy overall. 97% of balls have been called as balls but only 88% of strikes have been called as strikes.

And the reason balls would always be called correctly more often than strikes is because the ball zone is infinitely larger than the strike zone.
