I sure hope not. I was hoping he would go 0 for 20 with 20 strikeouts, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. Seriously, Bonds is an excellent player I just think the guy is a jerk. Go Angels.

They should just give it to him now. This series is about over and he is the biggest reason. The Angels are scared to death of him. He walks 3/4 of the time he comes up there, and that creates big innings. It's a joke.

Tonight it's Angels 9, Bonds 2...the other 8 Giants have accounted for 7 more runs. When he starts hitting a homerun or getting a hit everytime he comes up, give me a call.

Basically, he is getting a hit or homerun every at-bat. A walk is as good as a hit, and when he's not walking, he's hitting home runs. When guys go after him, like Rodriguez, they can get him out. Unfortunately, they're not doing that often enough.

My point is despite all the fear you claim he instills in the hearts of his opponents, he is only one man and he doesn't score or contribute but to a fraction of the Giants runs. His ninth inning homerun last night was harmless. Tim Salmon hit a homerun worthy of MVP status and has done a lot more than Bonds has up to this point. Although a walk may lead to a run, it is not as productive as a hit because with a hit, Bonds could clear the bases or at the very least move guys around the bases, with a walk he only moves the guy directly in front of him one base.

If the Giants win, they should give the MVP to whoever contributed the most... looks like right now, the leading candidate would be Reggie Sanders.

You have to look at things from the Angels' perspective... every mistake pitch thrown to Barry ends up in the seats, so why bother take a chance? It may not be the manly thing to do, but I'd walk him everytime he had a chance to hurt me too. It's better to take a chance with Santiago than give up an easy run... just smart baseball.

To answer the above question, if the Giants win and he has 2 homeruns and 20 walks, then no, he should not get series MVP. If he whines about his walks and is only concerned about his losing the MVP award because of too many ball fours, then he is just shedding light on his self centered, the world revolves around Barry attitude. If he congratulates his team and whoever wins the award, then he'll get some props from me.

It's a moot point, though, since the Angels will win.

Baseball is a TEAM game and Bonds certainly scares pitchers and managers. I would say YES if SF wins it. Like it or not he hurt the Cardinals by walking and when he did get a chance to hit, he HIT the crap out of the ball.

I still don't like his personality though. GO ANGELS!

Kinda hard for Bonds to hurt anybody when he's down 8-1. I'm so glad...I don't want that arrogant bastard to get a ring. I know a guy that worked for the Giants for 6 years and he said Bonds wouldn't even sign autographs for Giants' employees kids. He said that if an employee brought Bonds a homerun ball that a fan wanted signed, he'd say, "It's gonna cost him $50 for me to sign it" This guy said he's never met a bigger [censored] in his life.

Regardless, doesn't look like Bonds is winning anything this year unless the Angels suddenly stop hitting everything in sight.
