You could find a bloody needle with mcgwires name and fingerprints on the shiznit and you'd still be talkin bout some cream bonds used. race card anyone?
Let me see, it's called respect for someone who passed away. You NEVER jump on someone and bash them after they die. That's very weak.

People jump on Barry more simply because he's a jerk. I met the guy when he played in Pittsburgh. He was a jerk who thought the entire universe should bow before him (I can also say the same about Andy Van Slyke and a few others). Others have said they met him in SF and he's cool now. Fine, maybe he changed - however, his press conf's haven't led me to believe he's any better.

People HAVE jumped on McGwire. Heck, much of the congressional hearing thread was bashing McGwire with how he responded. He completely avoided the questions and hid by trying to say he didn't want to dwell on the past.

As for Giambi, maybe people don't bash him as much because he told the truth (although there have been many threads on him in the past). He said he used. He's guilty. End of story. What else is there to say at this point? At least he had the manhood to tell the truth and deal with the repercussions. That's more than I can say about a bunch of other guys.

This is the first i've heard of it.

Seriously though. I respect a guy who just comes out and admits it a lot more than somebody who constantly lies about it.

                It's a catch 22 tho.

If Bonds were to admit to taking steroids then his records would be washed away and furthermore he'd probably do some jail time.

Giambi never officially admitted to it either. He apologized but never said what he was apologizing for. Brilliant move on his part IMO because he protected himself from jail, voided contract, etc but at the same time improved his image with fans. Honestly I think if they all just admitted it, people wouldn't talk about it nearly as much. A good portion of the discussion regarding the steroids issue is speculation on who used and who didn't.

                        You're correct,

The only way things improve for MLB and the players is if a big name is caught using roids thru their testing. I doubt that's going to happen but who knows.

                                You Giants fans are pathetic.
Full of denial, and straw-man arguments.

"Yeah, but Joe Scrub from the Minor Leagues isn't hitting 70 HR's. Bonds has good hand-eye coordination and he's better than most players without steroids".

Get it through you thick head that nobody is disputing those things.
What us sane people are questioning is how it's remotely possible to go from "never more than 49 HR's before the age of 35" to his superior numbers lately every year after 35. He's the only athlete in the history of the world to get better after 35.

He's still a HOFer but the records are a joke; and to say there should be an asterisk is an understatement. Not that Bonds is alone in that department.
