Originally posted by joebooOdd. I'm very surprised Chavez would say anything at all. The last thing he wants to do is let MIN know that other teams think Santana is tipping his change-up. That is unless MIN already knows about it and is working to change it.
However, to the best of my knowledge, when a team gets a valuable piece of info like that (especially against someone as dominant as Santana), they keep that info locked tightly.Comment

Originally posted by Karlos05I think there has to be some mind games going on. If a team knew that an opposing pitcher was tipping off his pitches no way they come out and say it. Maybe Chavez is trying to get in Santana's head because I doubt he'd announce that a pitcher like that is giving something away.
I remember it happened with one of the Pirates a few years ago. One of their pitchers was getting ripped apart. The Pirates made a trade and the player they recieved in return came over and said "Oh yeah, it's all over the league that Pitcher A is doing this and tipping his pitches". Pirates fixed it and that player started pitching better.
I can't think of who it was for the life of me right now. I just found it funny that this player said the entire NL knew about it, but the Pirates had no clue! Sadly, that wouldn't surprise me with this team...Comment

Speaking of the Pirates having no clue, Tike Redman batting 3rd? Watch out NL Central here come the Buccos.Comment

I've already given up. Bat a weak hitting, slap hitter in the 3 hole. Smart move Lloyd.Comment

Re: Stark of ESPN.com Picks Twins to Win W.S.
I have the Twins missing the playoffs this season. But if they do get in they're a dangerous team to face in the playoffs. In a best of 5 you're going to see Santana twice and Radke once.
Hopefully Mauer can stay healthy because his skill set is off the charts. It will be interesting to see how Morneau does over a full season. Their power bullpen is one of the best in the majors.
But even with that said, I picked the White Sox to win the division.Comment

As a Yankee fan... I am terrified every year of facing them and Johan Santana in a 5 game series.
Edit: Gammons, Olney, Crasnick all agree.
