Are the Mets nuts or what?

The official website of the St. Louis Cardinals with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.

I don't understand why they cut Matt Ginter from their team. The guy threw 14 scoreless innings. I understand them wanting to keep Heredia, but I think this guy proved he won a job in the bullpen. Just like Bill Pullsipher did with the Cardinals.

What that artical does not tell you is that the Mets cut Ginter to make room for former Cardinals castoff Manny Aybar.

They cut Ginter to keep Manny Aybar?!

Ah you gotta love the futility of the Mets personel decisions.

The article said that it cut him to make room for Felix Heredia. How can they get rid of him, when he clearly outperformed other guys in camp? Look at Bill Pulsipher with the Cardinals, he outperformed Mike Myers and they sent him back to Boston.

But Ginter out performs in camp and they trade him away for Steve Colyer who clearly had a bad spring training. Ginter 14 IP with no earned runs and Colyer with a 6.75 ERA 12BB's and 6 SO's.

What the heck ever happend to winning a competition and getting the job with the team you performed for? This has made me lose alot of faith in the Mets.

They traded Ginter to the Tigers, they didn't cut him.

Futility? Check out Aybar's numbers in the Dominican and during Spring Training.

What were the Mets going to do with a long reliever when they have 2-3 guys who can fulfill the role? We got back a left-hander who throws high 90s gas. There are two pitchers that can get that talent from Colyer and turn it into results- one's it Atlanta and the other is Rick Peterson.

Ginter was also out of options so they had to trade him b/c someone would have picked him up. traded for a guy that just throws hard with not much control. ahhh the life of a gm is not easy!!
