Re: 0 and..............
Mets should have gone after more pitching...
Yanks should have gone after Beltran....*whew*“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on Sheffield -

Re: 0 and..............
That's why I added the "whew"
I was thrilled they didn't get Beltran, I'd take RJ over him anyday.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: 0 and..............
In my personal opinion the Mets lack a bullpen and the pitchers they do have rarely throw deep into games, which will tax that mediocore bullpen even more. If the Mets dont make a move or run across someone that can fill the gap in those middle innings they are really in trouble, it almost seems that teams are more then willing to take pitches against the Mets just to get to their bullpen, but like I said thats just my humble opinion.Comment

I swear no group of fans panick as much as baseball fans.We are talking about 4 games here.I think it's safe to say that every team will lose 4 in a row at some point during the regular season...Don't worryComment

yeah, don't panic just yet. This isn't the first time they had a great team and underachieved. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: 0 and..............
After the performance in the first 4 games, I think the biggest thing we need is to run a batting order out there that better utilizes our talent. Matsui has no business anywhere near the top of the order, period. Wright should be in the 2-hole. We could also seriously use a legitimate power bat in the 4-spot, but that's another issue entirely. Unfortunately, right now Piazza is our best option, and he should be hitting 6th in a good lineup.Comment

Re: 0 and..............
Honestly, things aren't looking too good. I was talking to someone about the Mets pitching and they remarked that the Mets rotation is Pedro, Glavine, and pray for rain. I'm no fan of Zambrano at all, the less said about him the better. Benson's a bit iffy(when healthy), and Ishii can't replace Traschel. After Glavine the quality drops off quite a bit.
The Mets lineup is much better this year but after 4 games they need to show a bit more.
I think what the Mets need is some one that's a leader in the dugout and in the clubhouse among the players. Someone like a Tug McGraw that could fire up the team when they're in a situation like they are now. It's almost like they seem content with the situation they're in and it's hard to get them out of it.Comment

Re: 0 and..............
This is what happens when you have no Bullpen, kinda like the Jays last year cept with a much bigger budget!
Normally I wouldn't worry too much about this but this is a team playing in NY. a 4 game losing streak to start the season sends the sportswriters into a tizzy.
Oh and this is the worst start since 1964. "Cackles" The Mets have had some really bad teams since then but none have come out of the gates this slow.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
