well since this is the first time in 41 years that the team starts 0-4, i think it is a little troublesome.. Matsui has to go.. he cant field for his life, either as a SS or 2B..

Yes Matsuhi really stinks, I would be playing Cario if I were Willie, He far better then Kaz in my opinion.

Luckily the baseball season is a marathon not a sprint, but I think the lack of bullpen is going to come back to hurt you guys.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Jesus, I almost hate to bring it up because it is like kicking a dog when it is down, but that Zambrano for Scott Kazmir trade sure is looking worse by the minute, if that's even possible.

I still cannot believe the Mets did that deal. Even if Kazmir ends up being a flameout, he has more talent in one finger than Zambrano has in his whole body. On paper, that deal has Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz part II written all over it. Only difference is, Doyle at least won games down the stretch to help the Tigers win the division that year. Then again, the Mets haven't developed a really good pitcher since Dwight Gooden. It is hard to count Isringhausen, since he was just wasting away in New York.

Oh, and about Kaz, the Mets are paying way too much money to sit him down in favor of a run of the mill journeyman middle infielder like Cairo, even if he would outproduce him. They will give Kaz every opportunity to get it turned around.

I made a crack the other night to a friend that said I should stop riding the Mets about the Kazmir/Zambrano trade. He said a scout only said Kazmir has two pitches. I countered that Zambrano has no pitches. Peterson isn't going to fix Zambrano. He said that he could fix him but we would've seen some results, even a minor improvement, by now. Kazmir is also young so with a good pitching coach he might develop a third and maybe even a fourth pitch. I don't think Peterson's all that he's cracked up to be now. .

This start isn't really all that shocking. The Mets bullpen is still a mess, and their rotation isn't very deep.

The Mets went out and made 2 big signings, but they still have tons of holes. You just can't fix that much in one year.

Not to mention that they have a rookie manager. They'll be better in a month or so.

Not sure what that play has to do with the Mets inability to win any games, but ok, thanks for noticing.

just think-- at this rate they may shatter the 0-21 start of the Orioles back in the late 80's..

It has nothing to do with the Mets. I mentioned them earlier in my post. Just making an additional comment.

Face it, Beltran and Pedro aren't carrying the Mets to a season with 70 wins.
