Now all you Yankee-haters take your blind homerism elsewhere.

I guess I must have missed Jeter refusing to move to 3rd. He wasn't even asked to do it.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

It's common knowledge that Jeter is among the worst SS in baseball in regards to his range. For some reason people think he's a good fielder because of his mythical intangibles. I'm still trying to figure out what those are.
Here's my take on Jeter:
Range to his left- Awful... I rarely see him take away hits up the middle
Range to his right- Above Avergae... we see that patented deep in the hole mid air throw that he does many times
Throwing Accuracy- Above Average.. we don't see many bad throws from him
Throwing Strength- Average... he has enough to make the tough plays in the hole or on balls her charges but not nearly as good as others like Furcal.
Fielding- Average- most of his errors come on botcched ground balls
Also, like Jets said... Jeter moving from SS to 3B was never even asked to him. It was said when the Yanks traded for A-Rod that he had to move to third no questions asked. Don't you think it makes sense to have it as it is now? If A-Rod is at short and Jeter at third... you have a medium sized upgrade at short... and a HUGE downgrade at third. With Jeter at short... it is a slight downgrade over A-Rod... but A-Rod at third is a HUGE uprgarde over Jeter had he been playing third... if that makes any sense.

Since 2001:
Red Sox have plunked 68 Yankee Batters
Yankees have plunked 36 Red Sox Batters
Enough evidence for you?
Confirmation in Bill Simmon's article here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...s/cowbell/blog
Last night's incident also played into something larger that's happening with this rivalry. The Red Sox keep pushing this Yankees team around, whether it's fans popping right fielders at Fenway, Jeter getting plunked in the helmet for the umpteenth time, Red Sox players calling out A-Rod during spring training, Varitek nailing A-Rod in the chops or whatever ... and the Yankees keep taking the high road and not sticking up for themselves. According to one of my editors, the Red Sox have plunked 68 Yankee batters since the start of the 2001 season (compared to just 36 Boston batters hit by Yankee pitchers), including a 5-2 advantage this season. Talking to my buddy last night, I joked how the way the Sox keep throwing at Jeter (intentional or unintentional) is vaguely reminscent of the way Cobra Kai kept going after Daniel-San, to the point I keep waiting for Mike Timlin to scream at him during batting practice, "What's the matter, Derek, Mommy not here to dress ya?"
