    Screw The World Series....

I am so pissed about the way they are avoiding Bonds. I'm not a Bonds fan either, or even a Giants fan. But it is so chicken s__t to dodge this guy like they have. The Giants aren't dodging redhot Troy Glaus. So far in game 4, there has been a guy on 1st and 3rd, 1 out..Bonds comes up...intentional walk to load'em. On his next at bat with 1 out, guys on 2nd and 3rd...intentional walk to load'em. This is a load of crap. The series isn't even exciting to watch because Anaheim is playing scared. Now some of you will say, no, they are playing smart. Maybe, but don't pull that crap in the world series. Challenge the guy with good pitches. A guy like Bonds waits all year, all career for a chance like this and the weinies at Anaheim are walking the guy every at bat so far in this game. I for one am not watching another inning of the series because it is so cowardly of the Anaheim Angels to continually walk a guy just because he is a great hitter. If they win the series (Angels) they will definitely have a stigma attached by their name in history. It'll be like an asterisk with an explanation at the bottom that reads <Pitched to only 8 batters in the line-up> . Grow a set of b-lls!!

      3 Trips to the plate.

      3 IBB

I don't like it much myself but what can ya do?
It's up Benito to show some manhood and actually hit one out of the infield.

If he comes to the plate with any base open, they should walk him...especially with Santiago not batting his weight and grounding into DPs every inning. It's not chicken****, it's smart baseball. Maybe if Dusty had walked Salmon the other night, they would be up 2-1 instead of down.
No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

I am getting sick of listening to people cry about the Angels not pitching to Barry... hush little baby, don't you cry.

The Angles are out-playing them in every aspect of baseball... if the Giants don't want Barry to get walked everytime, then they need to adjust their line-up and put somebody behind him who will make the Angels pay. Blame Dusty Baker, but don't blame the Angels for playing smart baseball. They came to the series to win, not to watch Barry hit homeruns.

Call 'em all the names you want, tell them they need to "grow some balls"... whatever. Balls only get in the way when holding a World Series trophy on your lap anyways.

BaseballGURU...watch your tone dude. I didn't attack anyone in my statement. If you find this World Series to be exciting, watching argueably the best hitter in baseball history getting walked every at bat, you can't call yourself a true fan of the game. I said that some would say that it is smart to walk him, but c'mon. In the world series?? Time after time, after time, after time....this is not exciting!!! Yes it might be in their best interest to not let him hit, but that IS IN FACT CHICKEN****!!! The series is supposed to be a slugfest, all weapons used...Anaheim is playing scared...very simply put. Call it smart or whatever...you are probably the kid who ran from all the fights in high school and believed it when your daddy said that was the SMART thing to do. (That WAS a personal attack...lol)

Bonds has 3 Hrs already in the series. I would say they learned their lesson in pitching to him. 2 of the 3 walks tonight were normal situations where you would walk a guy. One of the was questionable, but it payed off.

                  Re: Screw The World Series....

I think I'll confound my critics by devoting this letter not to describing yellow-bellied Luddites in general, but BaseballGuru in particular. First things first: I recommend that we remind BaseballGuru about the concept of truth in advertising. And I can say that with a clear conscience, because BaseballGuru is capable of only two things, namely whining and underhanded tricks. Be honest; can you in any way believe his claim that the only way to expand one's mind is with drugs -- or maybe even chocolate? I unequivocally cannot, mainly because I am tired of hearing or reading that there's no difference between normal people like you and me and the worst types of mudslinging profiteers there are. You know that that is simply not true. Although the Gospel According to BaseballGuru says that hanging out with crass, lawless suborners of perjury is a wonderful, culturally enriching experience, I contend that I myself have traveled the length and breadth of this country and talked with the best people. I can therefore assure you that there is no such thing as evil in the abstract. It exists only in the evil deeds of evil people like BaseballGuru.

The largest problem, however, is that it is more than a purely historical question to ask, "How did his reign of terror start?" or even the more urgent question, "How might it end?". No, we must ask, "What is it about our society that makes footling, noisome flag burners like BaseballGuru desire to make me the target of a constant, consistent, systematic, sustained campaign of attacks?" I mean, if you've read any of the lethargic, inane slop that he has concocted, you'll indeed recall his description of his plan to shame my name. If you haven't read any of it, well, all you really need to know is that BaseballGuru's complaints symbolize lawlessness, violence, and misguided rebellion -- extreme liberty for a few, even if the rest of us lose more than a little freedom. I am certain that if I asked the next person I meet if he would want BaseballGuru to condone universal oppression, he would say no. Yet we all stand idly by while BaseballGuru claims that I'm too mawkish to debunk the nonsense spouted by his apostles. He can go on saying that the most valuable skill one can have is to be able to lie convincingly, but the rest of us have serious problems to deal with that preclude our indulging in such bestial dreams just now.

Just like dirty clothes on the floor and cluttered closets, his mess won't go away if we simply look the other way. And what about BaseballGuru's compeers? They, like BaseballGuru, are the most frightful vigilantes you'll ever see. I could accept, perhaps, deeds backed by the forces of logic and powerful reasoning. Prognoses marked with hypocrisy and contradiction, however, merit none of my respect. He spouts a lot of numbers whenever he wants to make a point. He then subjectively interprets those numbers to support his crusades while ignoring the fact that if he wanted to, he could convict me without trial, jury, or reading one complete paragraph of this letter. He could hurt people's feelings. And he could provide cover for an ill-bred agenda. We must doubtlessly not allow BaseballGuru to do any of these. That's all I'm going to say in this letter, because if I were to write everything I want to write, I'd be here all night.

                          Liquid,

I would have to say that I am lost as well, what did Guru do recently on this board to deserve this? And what is this?

But the series is tied so if the Angels are completely outplaying the Giants they have a funny way of showing it.

As far as walking Bonds, I couldn't do it, I would have to challenge him but I understand why the Angels aren't.
