I wish. I went a couple years ago with a group of friends, some Reds and some Indians, and it was a great time. Unfortunately just got too much **** to do this weekend.

edit: holy crap have you guys seen the pitching matchups for the series? Harang-Carmona on Saturday and Volquez-Cliff Lee on Sunday!

4 straight wins and I expect another win today. Cueto looked good last night with the exception of the 6th inning.

        per hal mccoy ...

And we’d all better shut up (me included) for now about bringing up Homer Bailey. He got beat up for the second straight time Friday night, walking six in five innings.
Our man who covers the Dayton Dragons, Marc Katz, visited Louisville recently and he asked Homer one question: “Have you learned anything down here.”
Homer’s answer was, “No,” and he walked away. End of interview. And that’s why Homer is still in Louisville and may remain there for a long time - or be traded.
Another story. I got this from two scouts and another impeccable source who saw it. On the day before a pitcher starts, he sits in the stands and charts the pitches of his team’s pitcher that night. It was Homer’s turn to chart that night, but he was reading a hunting magazine most of the time and paying little attention to what was going on on the field.
Another scout who has watched him said his fastball is down three to four miles an hour and he can’t throw it by anybody - in TRIPLE A! “I saw him two starts ago and he acted as if he didn’t care,” said the scout.
        Homer, we hardly knew ye.
is it time to possibly trade this headcase while he still might have some value?

May be what is going to happen. He has not been a fav of Cincy's for a bit now because of his attitude. If he isn't going to pan out in Cincy then I say trade him now. Otherwise someone needs to get through to him to help him reach his potential.

I agree that the reds should probably trade Bailey soon if he doesn't start getting it back together. I've never thought of him that highly, but didn't think he was horrible, but if he's not producing at least try and get something while he's still worth something.

Damn. You don't like to hear that kind of stuff.

On a positive note today, the Reds won their 5th in a row and got a series win over the Indians. Dunn with a walk-off three run homer!

Can't wait to see tomorrow's game!

not a bad idea but I feel like Bailey's just trying to sandbag his way out of the Reds organization. He's had no arm injuries/issues that would cause his fastball to dip. Plus, you see Volquez and Cueto sticking with the club out of spring training and doing well while Bailey continues to sit in triple-A and I'm sure he doesn't feel like he belongs there and thus is mad at the organization. Instead of handling like a man he's acting like child.

I really don't see the point of moving Phillips to SS. At 2B he is one of the best defensive players in the league at that position, moving him to SS and hes got the same tools just about all major league shortstops have. At 2B he has the ability to take hits away. Not to mention moving to SS from 2B after not playing SS in a few years is no easy task. SS is a whole different ballgame.

                        Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds

I'm not going to lie, I haven't kept up with the Cincinnati Reds as much other then the occasional check of the standings (and that was going pretty rough too) with the Flyers in the playoffs.

Now, with Philly knocked out, the focus shifts to the Reds. Just saw a headline on ESPN.com about Cincy winning their 6th straight and I'm glad things are starting to fall into place here. We all know this team is capable of better things and hopefully they can continue to make up ground, then play GOOD (doesn't have to be amazing) baseball the rest of the way and stay in the hunt. Of course, the NL Central has 3 of the top 4 records in the National League but that just means we'll be tested all season and hopefully we'll come up winners more times then losers.

I'm excited to settle into this season. Let's Go Reds!
                        NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
                        NFL - Buffalo Bills
                        MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Sure ya don't wanna re-think this? 2 so-called SSs just cost us the game last night. Hairston ain't even close to being a SS...& Yanish...has ALOT...to learn. That statement about "The Reds missing Kepp"...is rearing it's ugly A** head...i'm afraid.

Hairston isn't a shortstop and Janish is a rookie that isn't perfect. Things happen. But I agree about Kepp, he just brings so much to the table.

Now for some good news, the Reds are once again struggling on the west coast. At least they are consistent.

So much for that winning streak. I hate it when things are going really good and then they have to travel out west, which causes everything to de-rail. Historically they've been terrible playing on the west coast. I really hope they can win tonight to at least get one in Chavez Ravine.

They said on the FSN broadcast that the Reds haven't won a game at Dodger Stadium since July 2005. Well, the 5-2 loss tonight means that streak continues until 2009. Amazing. Cueto pitched well too.
