It was a gift at the end, but I loved the comeback especially since it was keyed by Rios and Wells. Hopefully nothing serious wrong with Dustin, just some soreness. Now if only we can turn this one into a bit of a roll then we'll be talking.

EDIT: Just like to point out that JP said Purcey, Cecil, Arencibia, and Snider may be September call-ups, which is a bit of a change from the previous organizational stand-point on the latter 3.

I know you guys are dying to get rid of him (Burnett), but I just don't see that happening. We'll take Eckstein and give you something cheap in return, but don't think we'd give away a lot for both, especially considering Burnett's contract situation and our rebuilding status.

Hell, after last night's game ending, you may get something a little better than cheap for your shortstop.

"pencils in losses for every appearance Purcey makes"

I'm sorry but that kid just doesn't impress me at all. I'll be very much looking forward to seeing Snider get some ABs though.

The thing to keep in mind is that his wife is from Baltimore and he lives there in the off-season. If you get AJ I would bet on him staying for the final two years. Still, though, I'm not sure you have anything that significantly helps us and that you would be willing to trade.

I'm not sure how much that will matter though. He had the chance to sign with us, but he went with your team. Maybe it was the money, maybe it was the team. Who knows. Either way, I wouldn't call it 100%.

And yeah, we don't have much. We have mostly pitching prospects. We have a few position players that may make it to the majors, but all of the good ones (very few) are untouchable.

So McGowan to the DL, Wolfe recalled. With the all-star break coming up it looks like Marcum may be back soon and Parrish will just start taking McGowan's starts.

According to Blair it looks like the Phils are in the lead for AJ's services. The Jays have actually sent scouts to look at the Phils' minor league teams as well as the big club as well. Blair is also saying that this would be a good fit in that the Phillies wouldn't mind having AJ stick around next year as he would most likely not exercise the option if he's in Philly.

They say there's scouts from Atlanta, the White Sox and the Phils at the game today. Also, our rotation heading to the break will be Parrish, Doc, Litsch, and then Tallet will start Sunday.

EDIT: Not good. TSN just said that McGowan has a tear in his shoulder, although they didn't go into any more detail regarding severity or what part of the shoulder is hurt. Also like to point out that there is no way a game you led 8-1 should have ended that close, although I'm glad we won.

EDIT 2: Right rotator cuff tear, further examination required. This sucks, those things can kill a career, hopefully its not too bad.

What an impressive sweep, not so much pitching wise but the bats are really picking it up. I hope this is a sign of things to come even though the season is by all rights over.

Oh and this pic cracks me up

Love the two walk-offs, what a way to end a game and it really makes the team feel confident. We may have only had one hit with runners in scoring position but at least we finally for once took those free runs teams give you on the groundouts. Personally, I'm a little shocked Overbay didn't ground into a double play with the bases loaded. And I definitely love that pic too, laughing about it as soon as I saw Eck booking it out to Lind when I was watching the game. And for once the lefties actually doing the job against a tough lefty.

And in case anyone didn't see it, Wells out four-to-six weeks. Seems to me that with the big gun out everyone else steps up their game, kinda like the Pens when Crosby went down and the supporting cast came up big.

So now AJ is going to start Sunday instead of Tallet, but JP insists its not a trade-bait showcase (riiight). Also, Rios out for the series to be with his GF who is die to give birth any moment. Which gives us an outfield of Lind, Wilkerson, and Inglett/Stairs/Mench. Not the best around, at least its only for 3 games.

                            ROY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow what a game! That was the best pitched game i've seen Roy throw since '05. He was totally dealing. The Jays are officially on a roll right now.

Roy was dominant, offense got some key hits, and what can you say about the D tonight especially that Scutaro-Mcdonald play up the middle! Unreal, that may have been the most amazing play I've ever seen in a ball game.
