Yikes, that was a lot more worrisome than I was expecting after going up 6-0. Scotty just had nothing today, although he wasn't helped by a tight zone that equaled out once BJ came in. Gotta love Snider getting he big inning started with a blast double, hey. BTW, out rotation for the Red Sox series is as follows: Purcey, Burnett (Morning), Litsch (Evening), and Doc. Lets make a run again and get back in this thing!Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
So what do you guys think. Of course we MUST go at lest 2-2 in this series. But does anyone really think we absolutely have to go 3-1 or even sweep?Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
If we sweep (which I think we must do) Cito is gonna be called a saint which I think is fitting. The guy never got his full due during his first stint and now he's being more then compensated with what seems to be a bit too much credit this time around.
BTW anyone notice that Tenace has not only changed Overbay's approach at the plate but also has Rolen making very minute changes to his swing? Interesting stuff eh?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
The first 6ish innings were played in a constant downpour. You could tell Purcey was having problems controlling his pitches due to the weather.
Wakefield was money tonight with the knuckler and it seemed he could've pitched forever out there tonight. It's going to be a tough couple days for the Jays now.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Well the Jays season is effectively over now. We just have the 90 win goal to go for now. I had a really bad feeling the way the bats went cold after scoring the 5 runs and then Boston kept chipping away at the lead til they won. We could've gotten out of it if Downs hadn't fell down fielding the ball there in the 8th.
Oh well I still am very pumped up for next year with Cito at the helm.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Yeah, really devastating couple of losses here. We could so easily have gone 3-1 and still been in it, although still a bit of a longshot. Hopefully we can stay ahead of the Yanks to close out this year and then move into the spring next season feeling good. If we can get just a normal amount of injuries next year I really like our chances of at least the WC.Comment

Damn it seems like Marcum's arm problems may be worse then expected
He's going to see Dr. Andrews about the tightness in his arm and it may mean he will have to miss significant time next season. If that's the case the Jays will be making a big offer hoping to keep AJ here.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
It's official - TJ for Marcum and he's out till 2010. Bad news, really need to hope McGowan, Janssen, and Accardo are good to go for next season right from the get go.
To touch on your point on AJ, JP has now confirmed they will look into reworking AJ's deal with the possibility of a little more money or years to get him to stay. Arnsberg says he believes AJ will stay with an extra year or two and Halladay says AJ has told him he would like to stay if they Jays can just boost that deal ever so slightly. For his part, AJ says he loves everyone on the team and that the Jays training staff is one of the biggest things he would consider b/c they are so good to him. Personally, I hope he stays. I think Doc and AJ 1-2 is awesome, and the possibility of a rotation of Doc-AJ-McGowan- Litsch-Purcey/Janssen/Cecil/Downs would be pretty good still.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
I pray to whatever higher power that AJ stays here. I mean, I know he's giving us 25 starts next year, but 25 good starts from him is better than whatever crap we'd get out of Scott Richmond or something.Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment
