That's how you bounce back from a poor showing, man we crushed them today. Hopefully we can get a nice start from AJ tomorrow and get some runs on Dice-K to take the series and go on a roll.

In other news, Marcum got sent down to AAA to fix up his control and Parrish recalled to start vs TB this week. If the assignment can do to Marcum what it did to Litsch it looks like a good move.

I think the Marcum demotion was more then just "fixing his control". It seemed like he lost some confidence as well. He just needs to straighten himself out a bit. I'm sure it's nothing major so I hope he comes back stronger then ever.

Oh and I just loved the pounding today

Someone on the Jays official board projected out the totals for the Red Sox and Jays and estimates the Jays need to go 26-7 the rest of the way to get the highly improbably wildcard. The added that if we lose to teams like Tampa that won't directly impact the WC chase we could maybe get away with 23-10. Both seem like a stretch, although if we can continue hitting like we have this past week and a bit you never know (and isn't that what makes this so fun?)

So the Jays once again demoted Kevin Mench to Syracuse but have yet to make a corresponding move. We also shipped Robinzon Diaz to Pittsburgh as the PTBNL in the Bautista trade. I had though Diaz was the catcher they though more of between him and Thigpen so I'm slightly surprised at them shipping him off, although with Jeroloman and Arencibia on the way we don't exactly need all these catchers.

I hate making 3 posts in a row, but this is majorly newsworthy. The Jays today DFA'd Matt Stairs for the purposes of making a trade and purchased the contract of TRAVIS SNIDER!!!! I'm stoked to see Travis, but I have this nagging feeling that he's coming up too soon. Big league debut at Yankee Stadium is some serious pressure.

And on another note, Jose Bautista sucks a lot.

Any guy we get from Pittsburgh sucks. (except Dan Plesac who was darn good) Stairs is now off to Philly and i'm also excited to see Snider called up. I don't think it'll be that huge of a rush job. I think Cito and his staff will calm him down a bit and if he shows some flashes of what he's done in his minor league career then we should expect some big things from the bats next season.

Man, in the last three days we went from crushing the ball to not being able to hit a thing. 5 CG losses on the year now with Purcey a couple days ago and AJ today. Props must given to Snider for getting his first career hit and scoring our only run, even though his escitement is probably dampened by the 8th inning K.

Didn't see the game but 7 runs is pretty good

Seems the offense is a bit feast or famine these days.

Well I have to be honest, I thought we were done after Parrish gave up the back-to-back HRs with 2 outs right after Vernon's homer in the top half. The club showed some amazing resiliency to come back, and just 2 days after I trashed him in this very spot Jose Bautista makes the defensive play of the game, picks up 2 hits and a couple clutch RBIs and the BP was solid as usual although BJ was a little shaky. Now we send Doc to the hill with a chance to win our final game at the Stadium and a team that should be feeling pretty good about themselves. Hopefully Snider can get off the schnide and pick up some more hits and get the confidence up, then we might really have something to talk about as we hit the end of the season.

Ah you gotta love it when Roy shuts down the Yanks

BTW Eckstein got traded to the D-Backs for minor league pitcher Chad Beck. I have no clue how good Beck is so "shrugs".

I wonder if JP (or whoever is the GM) will try to get another SS through free agency/trade or keep the status quo with having McDonald and Scutaro sharing the SS duties.

Its always good to shut down the Yanks.

I would like to say good luck to Eckstein, I don't know if you can find a much classier person in the world (forget in sports). The guy was a total pro even when he lost his starting job, and I think its fitting that the day he says good-bye he picks up a couple hits and an RBI. As for Beck, I've heard he projects as a possible major-league reliever down the road. Next question is who takes that roster spot, although with 40-man rosters opening up tomorrow it probably isn't a big deal.

Nice to see the Jays playing spoiler and they actually have a darn good record under Cito! I'm also noticing a lot of come from behind victories lately. This could either be a good sign or a sign of teams thinking "oh we got this in the bag" and letting the Jays creep back in.

Well either way it's always nice to win

Definitely nice to win, gives you some hope for next season. I saw somewhere that our winning % under Cito projected over a full season would be 91-92 wins, which would have put us right in the thick of the hunt. Oh well, my new goal for the year is to pass the Yanks, so let's get 'er done!

DAMMIT! I run upstairs to grab a snack and miss Snider hitting his first homer! What a shot by the kid, let's hope its the first of many.

If Gibby didn't hate Adam Lind, this team would be 3-4 games out of a playoff spot right now.
