I'm glad that Delgado refused to take a curtain call after homer #2 yesterday. Personally, I don't blame him. Please....that's why you had a legion of idiots who booed Johan Santana at Shea.

I've never heard such narrow mindedness in my life. How easy it is for them and the clueless to put that out there, but at the same time, to ignore the very harsh things said about him in the papers, on online blogs and what he surely hears at Shea. I don't blame him for one bit. If it was me, I wouldn't give a **** about the fans in that instance. If anyone thinks for one second that players don't hear and/or read the stuff said about them, they're dreaming. Even though players will almost all say they don't, reality is...they do.

Of course I know there are some who act like they have class, but for the vocal majority (some of whom undoubtedly were the phonies who cheered him yesterday), they all should ake a flying leap.

I was gonna post about this. I had no idea that it was such a big deal until I started listening to WFAN today. Surprisingly, I just walked back into the office thinking that Francesa would be on Delgado's side and Mad Dog would be all over him. I'm shocked to see it's the other way around.

I have no problem with what he did.

Great game last night. Sad that Santana couldn't get another win. The guy should be a 5 game winner already. And the venom for Heilman is incredible. Booed out the gate, booed after everything he did. Sanchez comes in and gets revered.

I had seats in the first row on the field level last night. I'm talking FIRST row... I was talking to the camera guys as they took some beautiful shots last night for AP, MLB and Mets...

Santana's pitches just sneak up on you. Throwing a consistent 90-92 MPH but the ball just jumps out his hand. Snell amazingly throws pretty well... his pitches were extremely flat though.

Took a bunch of pics and hopefully I'll get them up soon. Some nice close shots of the players.

I quite honestly don't think this guy will ever get "it".. sure he had a good year last year, but does he know where the ball goes after he throws it?

Classic "feast or famine"... Either he'll look ridiculously dominant, or he'll look like he has no idea where the plate is. If he keeps up with the inconsistency, I don't see us re-signing him at the end of the season.

Mike Pelfrey is a terrible, terrible pitcher

Between Pelfrey, Hughes and Kennedy, I think NYC has had enough of (bad) young pitchers for this season

On Perez, no way I give him a long term contract. He's a Boras client and some dumb team like the Rangers will give him 12-13 million per year.

I'm sure his pimp (cough, cough) agent Scott Boras is choking him out right now.... If anything, this is gonna make our decision at the end of the year that much easier. Most people figured that he would have a pretty good year this year, combining the fact that he won 15 games last year and then the fact that this is his walk year. Same ole same ole from Ollie.

Yeah, let's all keep dumping on Ollie and our other pitchers while we bat an impressive .245, 26th in the majors.

Oh yeah, let's not forget 22nd in the majors in Runs Scored...

Should I go on? We're one of the lower teams offensively in the league... We go up against semi-decent pitching and we can't hit. And last night we had 5 hits against Billingsley... BILLINGSLEY!

Pitching is the least of our worries at this point. Ollie will bounce back.. he's lost that swagger he had last year... Our bats are a bigger issue. These guys need to wake up.

What makes you think Perez will "bounce back"? Sure he might have some good games.. I know the offense is bad, but c'mon - Wags was right in calling Ollie out.. I'll stop getting on him when I see him actually pitch well.. Until then - no.

Pitching isn't a problem if you're Santana, Maine, or Figeroa..

The other two are horrible.

Because Perez had these similar problems before he was a Met. You know, way before you had the chance to go "OMG I love Oliver Perez he's the best he got us to Game 7 OMG *dies*"

Confidence is a huge factor with most of our pitchers. It could also be the pitch calling of Scheider. Ever since he has caught Perez he has relied heavily on his fastball, while Perez' best success was an even split with his off-speed stuff.

His line usually looks like this:

Yes- he was good in the past for the Mets.. But this year, he's a mess
