Exactly; all that stuff goes both ways... If the roles were reversed, Shane Victorino hits a HR and stands on home plate for 30 minutes with his hands in the air, so then Marlon Anderson could talk about "we didn't forget that"... It's comical that crap even got printed, much less used as fodder on these boards.

I guess the only problem with your analogy is that, you know, none of that stuff actually happened.Exactly; all that stuff goes both ways... It's ok - I would be embarrassed too if we had a team full of guys who acted like idiots with their finger waving and dancing and 10-step super-cool fistbump handshakes if they tanked for two straight seasons in September.
Maybe next year they'll learn not to dance and clown it up until they've actually won something. But I'm sure Reyes will be out there again in April, dancin' up a storm. God bless him.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion
I love this thread...It's really comical reading all the whiney posts, and the Mets fans who hate the Phillies sooo much that their jealousy is obvious.
Honestly...If having a leader like Jimmy Rollins meant getting to the postseason would you still want Reyes?
Would Reyes have turned that double play that Rollins did against the Nats on Saturday?
I hope you enjoyed your 162 game Jose Reyes show Mets fans...
Here's to Delgado having another year like he did in 2008, and to your 2009 bullpen minus Billy Wagner...
Now its on to beating the Brewers and Cubbies who we defeated in the reg. season series' 5-1 and 4-3 respectively.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion
Thanks for confirming what most people on this board already knew.
You Philly fans are not only sore losers.....but worse winners.
You guys throw in the B.S. and then when a Met fan replies...he's whining? Right.
So far your squad has won as many post season games as the Mets have in the last couple of years, so I have no idea what you're crowing about. While our late season swoon(s) were pretty pathetic, so is the Philly post season showing as well as it's fans reaction.
While your team are winners right now......it's fans continue to show that THEY are losers.
Good luck in the post season from the bottom of my posterior.
Try not to embarrass the N.L. East like you did last season.
Take care

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion
Reyes and the Mets have done more than any of the Phillies. Sorry, but going to the playoffs means nothing if your team can't even win one game. The Phillies fans should talk after their team wins a playoff series
No Mets fan with half a brain would trade Reyes for Rollins. Besides the fact that Reyes is the superior player RIGHT now, he's also 4 and a half years younger. Compare Jimmy Rollins numbers up to 25 to Reyes numbers right now and it's obvious how much better Reyes is at professional baseball.Comment

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion
Reyes is a lot like Billy Wagner. Both are "great" players, just don't ask them to play well when it matters.
Reyes September 07: .205/.279.333
Rollins September 07: .298/.333/.542
Reyes September 08: .243/.314/.402
Rollins September 08: .313/.411/.458
Reyes is definitely the better dancer during the first half of the season though. I'll give you that.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

You seriously made me laugh... Did you or did you not see the word "IF" in my statement? I understand you wanting to come in and pile on Mets fan, but jeez, reading IS fundamental... Thanks, though, I appreciate it... Enjoy the playoffs!I guess the only problem with your analogy is that, you know, none of that stuff actually happened.

They have to talk crap now because they know that in a week they'll be watching other teams play baseball just like we are.Comment
