    Re: 2008 Minnesota Twins

How about we sweep the Indians? We are very hot right now, but unfortunately the ChiSox are just as good. We have won 16 of 18 and haven't made up that much ground. We need to have a good showing in our next road trip to fully convince me we are real.

I'm loving the hot streak, We need to keep up with the White Sox and take them down when we play them. We should see some very good baseball these next couple of series'.

The Twins...along with the Rays and A's, three of the BEST stories in the majors this season

That loss hurt tonight, should have won it.

Baker pitched his butt off only to have the Twins strand 10 (I think) on base.

I would have rather seen Baker or Crain in the 9th. Can't bring a rookie into Fenway with the game tied in the 8th. Neshek being hurt is really killing us, that was his situation to come into when healthy.

Yeah I was not happy with Bass coming in in that situation. Baker told Gardy he didn't have any more left in him, but I would have rather seen Crain come into that situation. I guess they wanted to try giving Bass more responsibility. Hopefully they leave him to mop up duty for now.

Yeah, Crain or Guerrier IMO. Since Neshek got hurt that 8th inning spot has been all Guerrier this season.

What are we going to do with Denard Span once Cuddy is back? I'm loving Span right now, he can flat out play and he's a great guy. I had a chance to talk to him for about an hour at spring training this year. Good guy to have in a Twins uni.

I have no idea what they are going to do. The best thing IMO would be to send Gomez down as he has been atrocious lately. I doubt they are going to do that, so I am guessing that Cuddyer will not be rushed back and when he is ready Span will unfortunately be sent down. It's too bad as he is much better than Gomez at this point.

Well it looks like Gomez just made some room for Span...

He should be out for a couple days after running into the wall in Cleveland. Buscher absolutely mashed today which made me very happy. Seeing him play so well makes me want the Twins to trade for more of a power reliever than a third baseman.

HUGE series starts next week, let's shoot for the sweep! Liriano might be starting one of those games which would be very nice.

Also Craig Monroe is finally off the team. That marks a third straight year of adding aging veterans that have been awful. We have added and released Rondel White, Livan Hernandez, Ramon Ortiz, Sidney Ponson, Tony Batista, Jeff Cirillo and Craig Monroe. Adam Everett was essentially released last week until the Casilla injury and Mike Lamb would be out the door if we didn't owe him money next year. Why can't our front office look at this and realize how much money they have wasted? Spending that on even a medium free agent and then filling other holes with a cheap FA or minor leaguer would have been far more efficient and beneficial to the team.

Yep, each year I am left scratching my head wondering why we signed some of these has-been players and wondering how long before we cut them.

Btw, sound like Gardy got a game suspension for arguing balls and strikes the other night. Probably more a reaction against the Twins fans than anything, I've seen Gardy get a lot more into it with umps than that, although that was a stellar kick of his hat.
