I could see Cleveland making that deal; they need pitching (mainly starting pitching since they lost Lee last year and don't actually have a #1), Javy would do well in that ballpark given he's a flyball pitcher (and Cleveland had the lowest HR rate of any ballpark) and we need a hitter.

My preference is for him to stay but I would accept that trade. Maybe Wren can do another Renteria/vet-JJ/rookie type trade.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Cleveland is building through their younger core of players, trading for Vazquez means giving up those young group of core players.

Javy is reasonable priced and again, they have no starters - Westbrook is coming back from injury, Carmona was demoted and was putrid, Masterson is a development project, etc. I'm not sure what Cleveland has in terms of the minors but there isn't much MLB-ready talent.

Except Cleveland is in rebuild mode, and they are not going to throw away their top prospects for a one-year rental when they aren't even competing...

Doesn't Javy have a NTC? I suggested Baltimore because I'm pretty sure he can only be traded to an East coast team.

He can waive any trade to the west coast.

Not I...the dude is 37 years old by next year and most likely his best days at the plate are behind him.

And he's not the type of hitter that we need.

But he won't because he wants to be close to his family.

Javy only has 1 year remaining?

I'm really excited about the moves Wren has made so far, and the possible ones that are being discussed. Looks like he's committed to sending Bobby off on a good note, with at least a playoff appearance in his final season. I'm hearing either Marlon Byrd or Nelson Cruz could be a Brave soon. Of course it's merely a rumor at this point but I also heard rumblings of the Wagner deal a few weeks before it happened too so who knows?

Frank Wren said he'd handle most of the offensive needs via trade (ADRIAN GONZALEZ!)
