    Re: 2015 Atlanta Braves

The whole pitching staff has been pretty bad, especially by Atlanta's typical standards. The offense has been good, but outside of Miller and Grilli, nobody else looks above average.

Couple that with a manager that has terrible bullpen management and you have a team below .500. Any decent pitching and they're still right there in the race for a weak division.

The Mets will eventually fall back behind the Braves and Nats. I don't like what I'm seeing out of Luis Avilan, I feel like I'm seeing the 2014 Avilan pitching again. I wish Cunniff was still on the 25 man roster, he pitched well.

The Cahill experiment has been a disaster so far. The Braves should have kept Wandy Rodriguez instead of acquiring Cahill.

So Folty makes his debut for the Braves tomorrow...it's the start of all the young pitchers we have acquired.

That said, something worries me...I was thinking today and I can't think of ONE young pitcher who has developed under Roger McDowell. I am very worried about Teheran right now and hope he doesn't turn into Tommy Hanson part II. Do you guys think McDowell can develop these pitchers? I just can't think of one that he has...

Color me unimpressed with McDowell too. I wonder what Leo's up to.

Actually Leo does the Braves post game show on radio now...has for the last 7-8 years. I'd take him back In a heartbeat. So far not impressed with Folty...same thing I saw in ST in that he has no control.

I like McDowell. I feel like he does a pretty good job at developing guys. This year the pitching staff as a whole is just bad, but I've always like McDowell.

It'd be nice if we had top 10 pitching right now. We definitely would be a lot better than 11-12. The offense has been pretty good so far. Right around the top 10 in most categories offensively.

Damn I didn't realize that. I usually close the At Bat app once the game is done if I'm still driving when it finishes. Might have to see if the app lets people listen to the postgame before cutting it off. I know actual MLBTV cuts off the game immediately after it finishes so we can't watch the postgame.

I hope what we saw from Folty the other day is not a sign of things to come. Not his 'stuff', but his action with runners on base. The most frustrated I have ever been watching the Braves play in my entire life was when Tommy Hanson was on the mound with a runner on. Folty had a bit of that going on the other day.

Minor is done for this year. He was put on the 60 day DL today. Hopefully he can comeback by September and get a little work in.

Miller has been pretty solid so far this season, he just struggled a little with efficiency. Looked great tonight. He's at 86 pitches through 8 innings.

Miller has been awesome, which of course means some torn elbow or shoulder is on the horizon.

                          No!

...he does have a lot of torque in his motion but I think that power is fully transferred to the rest of his body with how he bends his back and doesn't let his arm recoil.

I really really enjoy having Shelby Miller in this team. He might be the guy the rotation has been missing the last few years. We just need Alex to get back on track

Since the 5-0 start we are playing around .333 ball....no way this team should be that bad.
