2nd worst record in baseball seems a stretch. Even with the complete lack of offense this is still one of the premiere pitching staffs in baseball. You have to feel really good about our starters 1-4. The bullpen lost a lot of depth this off season, but Kimbrel is still waiting there in the 9th if this team can get a lead. I think being 3-4 games within .500 either way is much more realistic.

So ESPN has started their pre-season rankings/predictions…we are the 28th ranked team with a predicted record of 68-94:

It's time for my second annual pre-spring training power rankings. You love them, you hate them, you laugh, you cry. But they stir up debate and get us thinking about baseball with spring training right around the corner.

I have a hard time seeing this team losing that many games…I really expect us to perform better (not necessarily be more talented) than last year's team.

I think our pitching can win 68 games easily. I think we fall around 73-80 honestly. I think 8 teams are definitely above us on paper. We just have to put the ball in play and play smallball. I just don't know if Fredi is talented enough to do that and use true platoons like Hart has built the roster for.

Eh, it's a minor league contract. It's depth, that's all. He did have a 1.93 Era in triple a last year.

How many years in a row has someone on our pitching staff had elbow surgery? Legitimate question.

I'd love to see it in comparison to other teams. It feels like we're on a 4 or 5 year streak.

His surgery explains the signings of Capps and Coffey. I feel like Veras is a great signing.

I saw a chart last year that showed Atlanta has nearly twice as many in the organization since 2009 as any other team (Red Sox were 2nd).

just have anyone who hasn't had it in the entire org have it now, they will be ready for 2017

Oh yeah, I remember that. I wonder if there's a list somewhere.

This is the one I posted last year, it's from after the 2012 season, so the Braves have tallied quite a few more since then:

                              Atlanta Braves
                              - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

I found a chart on espn.com for 2010-14 (as of May 4, 2014). We lead with 8, there are 2 teams with 7. The average is 3.27 per team.

I think there's obviously a deep organizational flaw that allows this to keep happening. Hopefully new leadership will change this in the long term.
