Those guys are clutch as well, IMO). But what can I say, you guys have the Gashouse Gorillas for a lineup to make up for that. :P

First place, its been TOO damn long.

And a special thanks goes out to the Devil Rays, whom none of this would've been possible this evening.

Big Rub isn't overly clutch. Though he's been on fire this month, hitting .500 (13-26). But he only has 3 homers and 25 RBI. It's nice to have him off the bench and start occasionally, but his defense is AWFUL.

There is no way he is more important to us than a healthy rotation.

If we had a good, healthy rotation.... we wouldnt need a pinch hitter to be clutch because with a good rotation... we wouldnt be behind in those situations.

They put Sierra on the DL today and called up Andy Phillips... who doesnt really pack the same punch off the bench the Rube had.

I bet we see Womack in the OF more in the next 2 weeks and Bernie benched because Joe always likes to have a good pinch hitter to come off the bench.

For the love of God, please waive Franklin. He is HORRIBLE.

The one night the pitching is solid (until Franklin), the offense goes cold.

You guys scored 1 run off Chan Ho Park and you're blaming Torre and Wayne Franklin for the loss.

Do you purposely have Ortiz's last name spelled wrong in your profile/avatar?

Yes. During the presedential race, they interviewed John Kerry at Fenway Park and he was talking about how good "Manny Ortez" was. He lumped them together as one player, and pronounced Ortiz's name wrong.

Small gets out of a 1st/3rd jam, striking out Soriano.

Benoit has surprisingly looked sharp thus far, striking out the first 4 batters...

Wooo! Giambi does it again! 1-0 Yankees

                            His 7th homerun in July.

Since May 17th, he is hitting .333

EDIT - Posada goes back to back!

                            2-0

I remember seeing that... I was laughing histerically when it happened.

Did he throw out the 1st pitch at Fenway that day or a day soon after? Because I imagine he wouldve been booed as badly as Jeff Gordon was booed for calling Wrigley "Wrigley Stadium"
