I was really feeling good about things after that 1st half but then things got weird. So, your Niners weren't the only ones that had challenges tonight due to crappy play.

Ugly win by Charlotte, needed to score the last 9 points to get a 4 point win at home against GW. Sounds like UMass showed up in the second half, there is a ton of talent there, I'd be surprised if they didn't pull a big upset before the end of the season.

Richmond and Temple both picked up double digit wins.

Good weekend coming up: Xavier @ Dayton, UMass @ Rhody and Temple @ Richmond should all be good games. Charlotte is at Fordham which, hopefully, shouldn't be a good game for anybody except the guys in green.

UD just needs to finish strong in the conference. Their non-conference losses are all to ranked teams. Can't afford any more losses at home or to teams like St. Joe's.

Tough stretch for Dayton in the next 10 days: vs. Xavier, vs. Charlotte, @ St. Louis. They have to get at least two wins there. A win over Charlotte would be huge since they are both looking like bubble teams right now.

Richmond has 8 games left and 5 of those are against the other teams in the tourney mix. 3 of those are on the road at Rhody next wed, at Xavier and at Charlotte to end the reg season. Temple and UD are at the Robins Center. Sitting at 17-6 I think the Spiders need to finish 6-2 out of those last 8. Not an easy task. The marquee wins are losing some steam since Miss St, Florida, and Mizzou are not really doing anything great at the moment. I think in the end UR goes to the NIT thanks to 2 games. The loss to William & Mary in Nov and SLU in Jan. Both were on the road but Richmond should not have lost to either team. Had they beaten Wake or S Carolina, those 2 losses would not be as bad. Plus the A-10 has not put 5 teams dancing in years let alone 6.

No, UD can't afford another loss like that. Saturday's game is going to be interesting. I really thought the way Xavier was playing last night against UMass, until the second half anyway, was showing they were ready. How the finished that game made me uneasy. UD needs to beat them if they want to again be included in any talk for the Big Dance. Like I said before, I'm hoping they don't and just go beat someone else in another game.

Good summary of the Spiders chances. One thing about the bids this year is that the Pac-10 being so incredibly weak this year is going to open up more bids for other conferences. If things finish right, the A10 could get 5.

That would be huge for the league if they can get 5. There have been several wins over big 6 league members. Seton Hall, Nova, Cincy, and Providence from the BE. Ga Tech and BC from the ACC, Miss St and Florida from the SEC, and Mizzou from the Big 12. Hopefully things go right and fall in place.

If the top 6 finish 1-6 in the regular season and then the locks(Temple, Xavier and maybe Rhody) make early exits in the A10 tournament so the next 3 can advance, things could shape up really nicely. Everyone just needs to protect their home court and keep from losing to the bottom 8 teams in the league and there will be some strong cases come selection sunday. Still a lot of basketball left to be played, it should be fun to watch.

90-65. Yuck. Good win by the Flyers. Obviously Xavier didn't want to be there, didn't want it as badly, and appeared to give up with about 6 or 7 min to go in the game. I hope they take the attitude of, "It's one loss. Let's just move on," in preparation for the game in Gainesville next Saturday.

I was checking scores online and saw it was tied 72-72. Couldn't believe it. I guess they went on a little 5-0 run to end the game. Yes, they are alone at the top. They play like that next Wednesday @ Dayton and they are going to get trounced.

Shh! Still lots of ball left before conf tourney time. And UR typically plays Temple tough at the Robbins Center, even dating back to when UR was in the CAA. Plus it's too much to ask to have FSU(alum) and Richmond(dad is alum) make the dance in the same year

Huge one coming on Wednesday. URI vs Richmond.

BTW, URI took care of business last night against UMASS.
