Kibbles, could this finally be the year UD wins in Cincinnati? From what you're saying, the Flyers have a pretty good chance. Too bad Rob Lowery went down for the season during the first X game.

It would not shock me, in all honesty. It shouldn't happen, but it wouldn't surprise me. If X doesn't improve between now and that game, the one thing that UD will have going against it that night is it's X's last home game and Senior Night. But, since the upperclassmen have played rather uninspired, that all may mean nothing as far as motivation goes. Who knows? I'm still amazed UD hasn't beaten XU in Cincinnati since 1979. That's mind-boggling.

Totally agree on Lowery. He was a huge loss for the Flyers. Played great defense for them this season, among other things.

Plenty of games to play before that match-up with X. You all need to worry about beating SLU on Saturday at their place. I'm counting XU's game with GW on Sunday as a win but next week at St. Joe's will be rough.

Flyers go down in St. Louis. If Temple beats St. Bona on Sunday, there will be a 3-way tie for 1st in the A-10 at 9-3. Rhody is 9-4. There might be 5 or 6 teams that could win the conference tournament: Xavier, Dayton, Rhody, Temple, and St. Joe's. St. Louis is a darkhorse along with Duquesne and Richmond. SLU is playing good ball right now.

Huge game tonight Kibbles. If the Flyers can somehow pull off the upset, I think they clinch a ticket to the Big Dance.

UD is definitely in if they win tonight. Even if they lose, I still think they're in although they might need to win a game in the A-10 tournament just to be safe. I'm looking forward to tonight though. 9 PM on ESPN2! I'll be there!

I guess the only way I'll see UD win at Xavier is on College Hoops 2k8.

                Probably.

There's always next year. UD is bound to beat them at some point in Cincy. 1981 was a long time ago though...

X is struggling at the wrong time. Granted they ran into a Spider team that played probably its best basketball all year, but if X does not win the A10 tourney, they could slip to as low as a 9 seed.

They're having issues on the road. The game Saturday reminded me of the Duquesne game a little bit. Grant it, Richmond didn't shoot 80% from the floor in the first half but I think it was upper 50's% and it seemed like everything they threw up was going in. Kevin Anderson played out of his mind for the Spiders.

Maybe playing on a neutral floor the rest of the way will help X but they've been screwed up on the road ever since that Duquesne game. Everyone is giving them their best shot and if that team gets a good lead early, they can't get back into it for some reason. I was encouraged by the win at St. Joe's but they clearly need to still work some things out. They are lucky Rhody lost Saturday though. Not having to win the Richmond game to win the conference outright may have de-motivated them a bit but that's still no excuse.

I don't know if they'd drop to a 9 seed but I can see them getting a 7 again like last season. It depends on what the other teams they are competing with for the 4, 5, 6 seeds do in their conference tournaments.

                        All-conference teams: http://atlantic10.cstv.com/sports/m-...030909aaa.html

                        Highlights/Solo awards:
                        POY: Ahmad Nivins (St. Joe's)
                        ROY: Andrew Nicholson (St. Bona)
                        DPOY: Tony Gaffney (UMass)
Chris Daniels Award (Most Improved): Aaron Jackson (Duquesne)
                        6th Man: Delroy James (Rhody)
                        Student Athlete: Kevin Lisch (SLU)
Coach of the Year: Jim Baron (Rhody)

Nivins and Nicholson definitely deserved their awards. I didn't watch Gaffney enough to see if he warranted DPOY. I might have voted for London Warren of UD. I don't understand the Jim Baron pick for COY though. Not to be a homer but Sean Miller did a pretty nice job with Xavier this year as did Brian Gregory with UD.

Glad to see Nivins get POY. He was disappointing last year, but I feel the team wasn't centered on him and focused on the 3. This year, much different.

And kudos to Rodney Green. La Salle is getting better each year.

Nivins definitely deserved it with the way he played. Problem is he didn't have much help this season.

La Salle is getting better. They have a stud recruit coming in next year in Aaric Murray. Graded out at 94, which is the highest for any A-10 recruit for the 2009-10 season. The other kid they have coming in, Nurideen Lindsey, seems pretty good too.

Rhody had no business being even close to the top of the A-10 this year, Baron did a hell of a coaching job. I think it's fair.

You're right. Just checked the preseason order of finish and Rhody was picked to finish 9th. I take back what I said! I didn't know they were picked that low even with Jimmy Baron coming back.

                                Preseason predicted order of finish:
                                1. Xavier
