    Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

After picking up the first win for an A10 team, UMass loses to Southern Illinois to pick up the first loss. It looks like it was some kind of small tournament, I'm not sure.

Tonight is essentially opening night for the A10, a lot of games:

Doesn't look too tough, although I could see GW losing on the road. High Point has fielded a decent team recently so the Dukes might be pushed.

I don't know who Robert Morris has coming back this season but they'll probably beat St. Bona. That's where St. Bona coach, Mark Schmidt, was head coach before joining the Bonnies a couple of years ago. Friday's schedule overall looks like they A-10 could lose a few.

I had no idea UMass played a couple of games already. Just did a Google search and they were playing in the Coaches vs Cancer preseason deal. I guess they must play the first couple of rounds at host sites.

            Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

Columbia beats Fordham, the A10 takes the rest of the games. GW went into OT to get the win and URI only won by 2. Duquesne surprised me and won easily.

            Today's games:

            <TABLE id=schedtable borderColor=#000000 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width=550 border=1><TBODY><TR vAlign=top bgColor=#cccccc><TD>11/15/08</TD><TD>Morgan State @ La Salle</TD><TD>Philadelphia, Pa.</TD><TD noWrap width=150>2:00 p.m.</TD></TR><TR vAlign=top bgColor=#ffffff><TD>11/15/08</TD><TD>Temple @ College of Charleston (Comcast SportsNet)</TD><TD>Charleston, S.C.</TD><TD noWrap width=150>2:00 p.m.</TD></TR><TR vAlign=top bgColor=#cccccc><TD>11/15/08</TD><TD>Randolph-Macon @ Richmond</TD><TD>Richmond, Va.</TD><TD noWrap width=150>8:00 p.m.

I honestly don't know anything about any of these three opponants, but I'm giving La Salle and Richmond the home court benefit and expecting Ws. And Temple shouldn't lose to CoC.

Temple with a tough game, URI should lose by about 40 given their struggles in their first game. First game for Dayton and Charlotte gets a better test than their first game

I'm rooting for URI, but beating Brown by 2 at home doesn't bode well for their chances at Duke.

I'd love to watch St. Joe's/HC, ODU/Charlotte, and Temple/Clemson games. Good matchups right there. HC is tough to beat in Worcester.

Good weekend for the A-10. Teams took care of business...except Fordham. That's disappointing.

I think Temple/Clemson will be the best game today. If Charlotte plays the same game they did against UNCG against ODU they will lose for sure.

I'd like to get an early season look at a lot of A10 teams.

URI put up a great fight, looks like Duke got a lot of free throws down the stretch to win the game.

Tough day overall, the only A10 team to get the win was Dayton with a 3 point win over Wofford.

X looked okay Monday night. I only got to watch the 2nd half. I walked over to the Cintas Center after my class was over. They have some major turnover issues right now, which will bite them in the *** on Thursday against Mizzou in Puerto Rico. Plus, they held Toledo's Tyrone Kent to 7 pts, I think, in the 1st half but he dropped 30 on them in the 2nd. Seeing as how he did that, I'm guessing it was more his poor shooting in the 1st half than X's defense. I'll take the W but they still need to work some things out.

Richmond and La Salle nearly pulled off upsets against Syracuse and Florida State, respectively, on Tuesday night.

Looks like some decent games on Wednesday. CM, your Niners look like they might have a tough one at App State.

Niners fall in 2OT at App State. Charlotte looked bad in their season-opening win, then even worse in the loss to ODU. I didn't get to see the App game, but they obviously didn't look any better. They've got a touch schedule coming up, including Clemson and Arizona St. the next two games, they will be lucky to be sitting any better than 2-7 they way they are playing. Something obviously isn't clicking for them, it's been tough to watch.
