Re: Count the steps...
Officiating as a whole has sucked for a few years now. I think it hit rock bottom in the 05 NCAA Tournament. No league has good officials.President of the Devils Den

Re: Count the steps...
This is more blatant. It may not be as obvious in the paint, where Weight Room is camped out 95% of the time, usually surrounded by 2-3 other players... This one is out on the perimeter, in full view. Does Tyler travel? Sometimes. Is it hard to call? Probably, when you're in the mosh pit known as the lane. But no way any ref worth his salt couldn't call that a walk.Comment

What does UNC have to do with this thread anyway? The ABC/JCD mentality really knows no bounds. Inferiority complex?Comment

Re: Count the steps...
I agree it was very obvious, but are we really surprised? No. ACC Refs just like the rest of the nation's refs are terrible. It's not a wide known fact. They finally are starting to call palming which has been a terrible problem for years. And look how long it took them to get that right, and even then they still miss a lot that are in plain view.
What’s not surprising is that it was dook who benefited from such a no-call, especially in Cameron. I think that’s why so much has been made about this particular play—it was blatant, and it was in favor of dook.Comment

Re: Count the steps...
WOW, those officials should be fired immediately. I'm sorry, but thats just ridiculous. Also, sorry to inform ya, but the worst refs reside in the A-10.Sports do not build character. They reveal it.

Re: Count the steps...
Yeah, that was awful. As for Duke getting calls, we know it happens. It's no surprise. You can still beat them, despite the calls.
It really hit me the refs suck after that crap call on Allan Ray in the '05 'Nova-UNC Tournament game.
Off-topic: Pdiddy, since the other thread was locked, Shav was averaging 4 points and 4 boards. But when he started, he averaged 6 and 6 and a block. He even had a game where he had 11 boards and 4 blocksComment

Re: Count the steps...
Do you have a video of the Ray play? I still think that was a walk (or at least close enough to not be a bad call really) but haven't seen it since then.Comment

Re: Count the steps...
The Ray travel starts at the 55 sec mark.
