    Yet LSU/UCLA and Florida/UCLA sucked.

Just because you have big name schools there doesn't mean the games will be good.

Shauk, that's what they all said when it was UConn vs George Mason. Why would such a little no-name school have a chance against the stacked and loaded UConn Huskies?

FWIW, I think everyone remembers George Mason more then Florida. Or maybe it's just my perspective. Florida dominated the Tournament, but if you ask people around I bet, they'll forever remember George Mason.

          Exactly.

Some of the best tourney games in recent memory involve mid majors against power conference schools.

Obviously high seeds have good games against each other to but they can also have very crappy games, that argument goes both ways.

But two of those three OT games have included teams from non-big-six conference...

If UConn would have made the Final Four over George Mason, it wouldn't have made the final four any better. They didn't show up for one game in that tourney. They should have lost at least twice prior to the Mason game that I remember(Albany & Washington), Mason was the only team that actually put them away. Florida would have blown UConn out of the water, they thought they were just going to be handed the national championship

Winthrop is stupid and overmatched? Ohio State didn't exactly look like world beaters today against Xavier. Obviously Ohio State has the better talent but Winthrop can give them a game with their shooting.

People will be talking about George Mason's win over UConn for years. The same's not generally true of games between two highly seeded teams, except among fans of those teams. When lower seeded teams win close games, you get an extra "shock" value, and that's why I prefer having them win.

UCLA up 20-13 over IU at the half.

                  Ugly game.

Absolutley true, a lot of the most memorable games are upsets.

I'll never forget watching Bucknell knock off Kansas, I never saw that coming in a million years. Then the next year Bradley beats Kansas, another one I didn't see coming.

Valpo vs Ole Miss, that was arguably the best ending to a game ever.

Don't get me wrong, Ohio State vs Texas would be a fun game to watch with two of the best freshman in the country playing.

However, if you gave me a choice of Winthrop or Southern Illinois or Butler in the Final Four, I'd take that. They got there for a reason. They earned it.

Like VGM said, how often do we remember a Final Four loser? Never. No one will ever forget what George Mason did, or where they were when they beat UConn.

I think most people love the underdog, it's that simple.

Yup. I'll never forget being at Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville watching Georgia Tech and George Washington, and going out into the hall where people were gathered around watching the last minute of Bucknell/Kansas.

When BU hit the shot, I literally went running down the hall freaking out.

                          Something I'll always remember.

So again, I think Oden's should have been a tech, but it probably shouldn't have gotten to that point
