If Collison and Afflalo stay UCLA is easily the team to beat. Love is a monster inside in the post and on the boards. And he's got great range for a big man. With his ability to step outside the arc and shoot its going to open up the inside for Collison that much more. SCARY.

WSU and Stanford should be better. The kid from New Zealand should make a big impact for WSU. If Nick Young and Spencer Hawes stick around USC and UW are going to be up there as well. The Pac-10 is going to be extremely tough next year.

My buddies and I were talking about it just the other day. I don't see how the Pac-10 won't be the best conference in basketball next year. I think every single team is going to improve or stay constant. Plus, like you said, if Hawes stays at UW, they are going to be scary. WSU is losing only one player, and gaining some decent redshirts and recruits, and they might not even be in the top five for the Pac-10 next year.

About where I expect IU to be next year when the polls come out about lower teens. It all depends on if D.J. White comes back which I think he will. If he does I think IU is a legit top 10 team. If he doesn't IU will be a lower top 25 team.

                17. Georgia Tech
My guess: Thaddeus Young leaves early.
My explanation: If Lewis Clinch returns from suspension, Georgia Tech's roster will be more talented than most ACC teams.

Young would be an idiot to leave early. He didn't prove anything this year that would suggest being NBA ready. I mean he only had 20 six times or so. Getting Clinch back would be huge, since he was averaging over 17 per before the minutes got significantly slashed.

If Young and Crit stay with Clinch being reinstated, this team has the talent to contend. Which means they'll probably finish 9-7 or so at best.

Heels in the top 5 in both, assuming only Wright leaves, which is my guess as well. If Lawson and Hansbrough are both back, they should be able to make a strong run.

Aaron Afflalo isn't staying. Not happening.

If he does, then we're the team to beat.

I think these things are stupid to do so early.

But if all UNC loses is Brandon Wright, I don't get how they feel they should be less than #1. Thompson & Stephenson would have been starters on just about every team in the nation w/the exception of about 5-10 schools. Plus Copeland & Graves. PF will not miss a beat.

Terry & Miller leaving will give them a tighter rotation. Letting Green & Ginyard split the 3 while Frasor switches between guard spots & Thomas backs up the point. Not to mention, the Heels largest weakness, experience, would be a thing of the past.

If all the Heels lost was Wright, I can't see how they wouldn't be the favorites for '08.

I'm jumping on the Gonzaga bandwagon this year since Austin Daye was on my high school team last year. This kids gonna be amazing and i wouldn't be surprised to see them in the top 15.

Don't get your hopes up. I'd be shocked if Heytvelt is allowed back into a Jesuit school... he is facing a felony conviction after all. They also need to find somebody to replace Raivio and right now it looks like there isn't anyone on the roster to replace him. Pargo, Bouldin, P-Mac are solid players, but you can't rely on them to be able to run the offense as well as hit consistently from the outside. They also lack any depth on the front line.

I'm also surprised to see the CBS guy say Spencer Hawes is leaving and has UW in the Top 20. If Hawes leaves the Huskies are a bottom 3 Pac-10 team, which next year is still going to be a quality team (NIT caliber).

Its crazy to think Arizona finishing 9th in the conference isn't very far fetched at all.

#16 and #23...pretty much where Duke should be to start out. I don't think they will be that low at the end, but get better as the season progresses. Got the Maui Tourney to look forward to. I hope I can score tix this time.
