Yeah, those OOC schedules are making things screwy early on.

Haha. I've never known Miami to be any good. And then Sam Houston State and Saint Mary's on there, LOL!

Umm...since you claim to be a Big East loyalist and all you don't remember the Canes being very good in hoops? Where have you been? Let's see in recent memory in 99 they went 23-7, 15-3 in the Big East. They have players such as Tim James, John Salmons, Vernon Jennings, and who can forget Johnny Helmsely canning 3's from all over the place, and Mario Bland grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. 00 as a #6 seed they went to the Sweet 16 losing to Tulsa after taking out #3 seed Ohio State. 01 they made the NIT losing in the first round to Auburn. In 02 they made it back to the NCAA tournament, but lost as a #5 seed to Mizzou who went all the way to the Elite Eight that year. Those teams were all in recent memory, and Leonard Hamilton was the man behind it all. Till Perry Clark almost ran them in the ground and Frank Haith has been left to pick up the pieces. So man they have been good don't say they ain't never been any good.

Sam Houston has done pretty well for themselves and that home court winning streak and beating a game Texas Tech team is impressive.

St Marys did beat Oregon on their home floor so not going to knock them either. Heck they are a very good team anyway, and one I wouldn't want to face in the first round of the tourney this year. Just ask Ernie Kent and the Ducks.

Okay, well I can explain. I have only been following college basketball since since the post-ACC/Big East swap, so I didn't recall them being good recently. Past the 2003 season, I don't remember much.

St Mary's has a chance to really make some noise in the next few weeks with a game at Southern Illinois and at Texas.

I was very impressed with their win against Oregon. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a little noise later on this year.

I remember when they were good. I think they knocked off WVU a few times during that time.

You've been in North Carolina and haven't been following college basketball until 4 years ago? Is that legal here?

Haha. I lived in West Virginia until June of this year, so I'd say it's okay. It's funny now that I have moved down here in NC, it's all about basketball, whereas in WV, football is king. I think it has a little to do with how sucky NC's football teams are.

It was like that before the football got this bad. Despite getting some pro teams, this is college basketball country. That's why I laughed hysterically last year when Sporting News called the Cincinnati/Kentucky area the #1 area for college basketball. C B-ball's address is "### Tobacco Road".

No way that's true! All I ever here about is college basketball all the time. North Carolina is #1 and it's not even close IMO.

High school basketball. But not kings in college.
