What does him being a prick have to do with me being an Alabama fan? Nobody outside of Gainsville likes him. I can't wait to beat him with his disciple.Twitter

Sorry, I can't hear you, these two crystal balls are blocking my ears.

And I can't see you because all of these Final Four nets are covering my eyes.

Also, this glare coming off of Billy Donovan's clean record with no recruiting violations is making it hard to see as well.
Could you write that down in braille?Comment

Again, he's a prick. And karma has caught up with him in the fact that the one program he needed to be down to take control of the SEC, is back.Twitter

It was clearly karma that the best/second best basketball program of all time hired a really good coach.Comment

Re: '09 Recruiting Discussion
lol Calathes just left for Greece.
Wall honestly should have come to Florida. That would have been a helluva back court with him and Boynton doing basically whatever they wanted to do, considering our complete lack of options at any other position.Comment

Re: '09 Recruiting Discussion
And so does Christian Dreijer, Matt Walsh, Donnell Harvey, David Huertas and every other Gator that has transferred, left too early, or went overseas.
Yet still Billy D managed to win two titles and get to three Final Fours in the past 9 years. This is nothing new. If anything, Billy still has some good karma coming to him after all the adversity he's been through and having one of the cleanest records as a recruiter.Comment

Do you really think he's going to be final four bound with a new point guard this coming season? UF doesn't have a player coming back who averaged 15+ ppg last season. Florida will be lucky to make the NCAA's. If they couldn't make it last season with the conference being the worst of the BCS conferences...Twitter

Re: '09 Recruiting Discussion
Who said Florida is going to be Final Four bound? We had one guy that averaged 15 ppg last season (Calathes). No one even averaged 15 ppg on our two championship teams.Do you really think he's going to be final four bound with a new point guard this coming season? Twice in a span of 6 years did Florida need to completely re-tool their team. Not your typical re-tooling either. After Walsh, Roberson and Lee left, our three leading scorers everyone thought we were going to be horrible. We then won two titles in a row. When Humphreys, Green, Brewer, Noah, Horford AND Richard (our starting 5 and sixth man), there wasn't a soul who thought we would even be ranked the next year (which we were at one point). On top of losing them, we've lost Maureese Speights (NBA Draft, too early), David Huertas (transfer to Ole Miss, top 5 in the SEC in scoring), Johnathan Mitchell (transfer), Brandon Powell (transfer), Adam Allan (injury), Derwin Kitchen (starts at FSU but couldn't qualify academically for UF), Jai Lucas (transfer to Texas) and now Calathes.
Billy D will recover, but is still reeling after the 2007 Championship season and the number of transfers and early player exits. We could have filled an entire team of players in the past two years of players that have left the team. I expect us to be back in the spotlight in a year or two.
And I can understand all this pent up anger you have. I took a quick look at Alabama's basketball history. A Cinderella story Elite Eight run back 4 or 5 years ago, but I couldn't find another instance of you all making it past the 2nd round all the way back to 1995, in the glory days with Antonio McDyess. Not sure if you all made it past the 2nd round that year, either. I just got sad looking at the Crimson Tide's mediocrity and had to stop.
I never realized how completely insignificant Alabama was on a national scale in college basketball until today. All I could find was that they have the second most wins ever in the SEC, which I found very surprising. Then I saw they started playing in 1913. That explains it.
Hopefully the young Billy D-sciple Anthony Grant can get you guys back on track. One elite eight appearance in almost one hundred years. I've got a feeling he'll at least double or triple that in the next ten.Comment
