From what i have heard from a few places is that she was being a obnoxious b!tch and he started talking back. Then she hit him a few times before he decked her, Cant say i really blame him then again I do not play BBall for a major School and i dont have a shot at the NBA.

If she hit him first, I don't see why he should be suspended. But I also kinda doubt he was just sitting there getting attacked & then rose up. That's self defense & the U wouldn't, or @ least shouldn't, have a leg to stand on.

I'm really beginning to wonder more about this story on Devendorf. I understand how the judges would suspect the players' eyewitness testimony was tainted by bias, but I don't get how you could completely dismiss it as such. You weigh their relationship when you analyze the testimony. But you don't arbitrarily say it has no merit. And if they cleared him of doing harm, why is what he did worthy of suspension the entire year?

Yeah, this story is very odd. He was cleared of all charges stemming from allegations that he hit her but gets suspended for the year because of verbal abuse? I find that a lil extreme.

From what I read, he was already on probation for fighting (that was just speculation however), and regardless of hitting the girl or not, he still beat up her boyfriend. If he really was on probation, and he got in trouble again for the same thing, that would have easily led to a suspension.

Damn that is eerily similar to Nate Miles' raw deal at UConn. After he was accused of sexual assault the girl came out and said he didn't do anything wrong and that she was just trying to teach him a lesson. The school didn't care and refused to hear his appeal.

Wait a minute. Beat up her b/f? I haven't read anything about that. All I've seen is reports of attacking the girl.

This is what I saw that led me to that:

Eric Devendorf was at a party on Halloween night. The party was at a fraternity. Eric had too much to drink was and asked to leave. Eric took offense and beat the guy to the ground on the front lawn. Frat boy's girlfriend shows up and tries to intervene. Devendorf yells at her and (allegedly) strikes her in the face before going back to beating up the boyfriend.

That's the only place that I could find saying anything about that, so take it as you will. Like I said, based on that story, I understand the suspension. If that information is untrue, based on all the others stories I've read about people kicking her car, then I'm not sure about the suspension decision.

If true, emphasis on if, then that would explain why he's getting suspended for a year. But it doesn't explain why the only thing coming out publicly is that he hit a woman. Either Syracuse is going overboard or the somebody higher up is purposefully hiding the whole truth.

I got a feeling his Suspension will be reduced because Jim Boeheim is PISSED. I have honesly never seen him so upset at the University. He is going on TV, The Radio, The Newspapers, He is not a happy camper.

SU's Judicial Affairs has come fire from just about everyone in the Community, including Onondaga Counties District Attorney.

I'm pretty sure Boeheim will get it reduced. Jimmy B has so much pull at the Cuse that I'd be surprised if it wasn't reduced.

The chicks name is Kim Smith, and word on the street is that she's one of the many SU Hoops groupies. Shes hooked up with A-O and Rick Jackson, and I'm guessing Devo either played her or called her out on it and she... well... got him back lol.

I was thinking 5 games initially and 10 games max, but the whole season is ridiculous.

If he's out for the season, his career will be done for. IDK if he would have made the NBA, but any chance of making it will be out the window.

I guess we have him until at most January 12th so we'll have him for the Memphis game and a few BE games.

Looks like Ebanks is really starting to develop as a force for the Mountaineers. He got his 3rd straight double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) tonight in a much needed road win at Duquesne, 68-63. With Mazzulla and Ruoff both still out with shoulder injuries, WVU relied heavily on their freshmen Jones, Ebanks, and Bryant and all 3 stepped up and had solid games as Bryant led the way with 18 points, including 6 of 7 shooting from the line.

WVU is 7-2, with losses to Davidson & Kentucky, but I'm encouraged with what I'm seeing considering they have played the last 2 games without 2 of their leaders and starters in Ruoff and Mazzulla. The team showed a lot of heart and character in the Davidson game by fighting back and nearly getting the win. Tonight they trailed Duquesne by 11 with only a minute remaining in the 1st half but they closed out the 1st half on a 4-0 run and then opened the 2nd on a 12-0 run. The team's leading scorer, Butler, was in foul trouble most of the night and finished with only 6 points and they still managed a win. Though it won't look like much considering it was Duquesne and they aren't exactly a Top 50 team, it was still big for the Mountaineers to leave Pittsburgh with the "W."

My god, Syracuse has climbed to Number 11 in the AP and the ESPN top 25.

They may be winning games but they have consistently played horrible first half Basketball only to make it look like a blowout in the 2nd half. They have got to get their sh!t together by the time they play Memphis or they will not win.
