i think at least 8 will make it from the big east and i think the big east is loaded this year. i convince of five teams finishing ahead of wvu disregarding any injuries. then at 6 i think villanova will be good plus i am a nova fan. but i think the loss of joe alexander made it that i think syracuse is better than wvu. but i still think wvu will make the tournament.

but imagine how much more ridiculous the big east would be if alexander returned. i dont think i would even try to predict the big east because it would be too difficult. it isnt that i am underestimating wvu it is that i think the big east is loaded.

Don't underestimate the loss of your 4-year starting PG. He may not have been a stud but WVU will really miss him.

Nichols will be missed, but Mazulla is pretty good, so I'm not too worried.

He was only a two-year starter, though, since J.D. Collins was the starter in 2004 and 2005. Still, Nichols played quite a bit then and will be missed.

I thought Nichols played the off-guard his first two years? I coulda sworn they kept saying he was a four-year starter during the BET and NCAA's.

If they said that they were wrong I think. We had Joe Herber and Mike Gansey playing 2 guard and SF, plus Beilein's son played both guards. Nichols played alot but he didn't start till J.D. graduated.

my question is who is this year's go to guy for West Virginia?

I guess WVU fans think Ebanks will be. I'm not so sure he's going to be able to carry the load though. I've also said it a buncha times, in general the freshman class this year is no where near what it's been the last two years. I don't think we're gonna see anyone near Oden, Durant, Mayo, Gordon, Rose, etc.

I don't know if the team is going to have a real stand-out player this year, but the team looks more balanced overall, which is a good thing. Ruoff could be lethal from three if he can get his act together as he slumped towards the end of last season. Plus, Ebanks could be amazing. We shall see.

I think Joe Mazzula could be the go to guy. Devin Ebanks and the other freshmen will definetly help. Im sure they will be fine, especially with Huggins runnin thangs

I see the Big East shaping up like this. Its obviously going to be the toughest conference in the country.

                        1. UConn
                        2. Pitt
                        3. Marquette
                        4. Louisville

i see it more as a 4 team race for the regular season title with UConn, Pitt, Notre Dame and L'Ville.

Im not in favor of the 3 guard play like Villanova normally runs, especially because theyre in the physical big east, but they are my dark horse to maybe sneak in with the regular season title. Seems like Cunningham and Reynolds have been around forever and i love Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher.

People are sleeping on Cuse, I can see them finishing 4th pretty easily. I'm very interested to see how ND does, I think they may struggle a bit. I also have a strange feeling that neither UConn or Louisville will be the regular season champion - I guess by process of elimination I'm picking Pitt to be the regular season champ.

Anyone who watched every single Cuse game last year like i have would know the Orange are going to be very good this year. a Preseason #7, i do agree with that, but Syracuse does have a comparatively light Big east Schedule compared to other BE teams. SU only plays UCONN once(at uconn), Pitt Once(at Pitt), ND Once( at SU) Marquette once( At MU), and Louisville Once( @ SU). Syracuse does play Gtown Twice, Rutgers Twice, and 'Nova Twice.

I have a very good feeling about this team, They are talented, deep, and we will hit some three's this year( injuries not withstanding).

Onuaku is the most underrated player in the conference. Dude put up 13 and 8 and shot 63% from the field and no one really knows about him. Green going to the draft is addition by subtraction. The only issues with Cuse are the 4-spot and depth but the 2-3 zone should help w. that since it allows players to conserve energy and stay out of foul trouble.

                                - Flynn
                                - Devendorf
                                - Harris
                                - Onuaki
                                - Jackson/Ongaetu

That is a pretty damn good starting line up. They'll be able to compete with any team in the league.
