Joe Lunardi is a f'n moron. 7 Big East teams? 8 ACC teams? Joe, if you're going to be a bracketologist, you should seriously watch the games.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

CB, I wanted to punch him and Andy Katz in the face when I heard that. When will people realize that the ACC is not that great this year.Comment

I don't know man. I just don't see how 8 ACC teams deserve to go and how you can take less than 8 from the Big East.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Even thought I don't fully agree with Lunardi's current brackets, you do have to give the man his props. He usually nails about 95% of the teams that are in the Big Dance with his last projection before Selection Sunday. There's still plenty of games left anyway so I wouldn't get too worried about how many ACC or Big East teams he has in right now. There's still a chance that the Big East could land 9 teams and it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen, especially after Providence's win over Pitt last night. Cincinnati still has a couple of key games left also, and you never know what's going to happen at MSG in a few weeks.Comment

Can I start questioning Pitt's defensive ability yet? For all the talk about how good they are, they simply haven't been that tough on D this season.Comment

Finally saw the highlights of the PC/Pitt game, looks like the officiating crew decided not to let Blair commit a dozen uncalled fouls."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I know it was a few days ago but I recently saw Calhoun's press conference after the South Florida game; a lot has been made over his tirade - including the governer disapproving - but frankly I don't blame the much-maligned Calhoun a bitOriginally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Rell is an idiot for not backing up Calhoun, I like that some people aren't always PC and will put an fool like this "reporter" in his place. I'm very disappointed that she did not provide support for JC.
That d-bag activist had no place A) being at that presser B) asking that question at a basketball game press conference.
Calhoun's salary is $1.5m and probably makes another $1-1.5m in deals and endorsements. He's still a very small finish in the economic pond, if you're gonna be a gung-ho activist then go after the Wall Street people making hundreds of millions of dollars while still having a golden parachute. Not to mention if you break down Calhoun's salary into an hourly rate it won't be all that impressive. If you're DI coach in basketball or football and you are awake, you are working. These guys have absolutely no lives, are constantly on the road and always have something to do (recruiting, scouting, practice, study halls, fundraisers/events, etc)."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
In the grand scheme of things, which was the postgame press conference, what did it really matter? He should have let it go and moved on to the next question or one that was relevant. The guy baited Calhoun and he took the bait making himself look like an idiot for responding with his tirade. He should have been the bigger man and just let it go. The reporter definitely succeeded at what he was trying to do which was get under his skin and make him look like an *** about the whole thing.Last edited by crques; 02-25-2009, 03:57 PM.Comment

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
I don't really have much of a problem with what he said. The reporter had no place asking such a question. Calhoun probably could have been a bit more politer, but I don't have any problem with one of the best basketball coaches in the country making $1.6 million. If there wasn't that money involved, there wouldn't be the incentive to become such a great coach.Comment
