Funny thing is that Calhoun's strategy worked well against Blair in the rematch. We were outhustled and missed too many layups/dunk which cost us the game, not Blair's impact.

They both had great years but I thought Blair would get the edge based on head-to-head matchups.

I still can't believe that a lot of mock drafts have Blair as a lottery pick. I would take him on my college team any day of the week but 6'6 PFs who aren't overly athletic have tough times in the league.

That's what I was thinking. If they were considered even, I would think the fact Blair's team beat them twice would put Blair over the top. Thabeet had a better game the 2nd time around. But Blair completely dominated their matchup the 1st time.

I especially thought this since the 2nd game wasn't even taken into account, because the votes had to be in by Friday. How dumb is that?

Just a few days ago I was thinking how low that program had become. This helps out, for sure. But GT just played TERRIBLE.

Didn't know tht. Makes it even more questionable. Also stupid to vote before the season ends.

The NCAA pretty much does a similar thing on Selection Sunday considering the ACC/Big 12 CC games always end late.

That rarely happens. The only time I've known them to do that was when a lower one-bid conference played their title game late. The major ones 99.9% of the time have theirs ended before the final release.

They always have them slotted but usually it's just seeding that is in question, besides Kansas pretty much owns the Big 12 Torney, same with UNC/Duke in the ACC.

If Ruoff plays like he did the other night, WVU is in trouble. He has to hit some outside shots to give them a chance tonight. Notre Dame is on a mission and they know that their NCAA Tournament has already started so they are in a must-win situation tonight for sure. It wouldn't surprise me to see them win this game. WVU normally doesn't do well against the Irish, so this game worries me and was probably one of the worst Wednesday matchups the Mountaineers could have gotten.

WVU needs a few wins in NY to help their tournament seeding. I think that a win tonight and an upset of Pitt tomorrow could get them a #5 or #6 seed. A loss tonight and their probably looking at the #8 vs. #9 game, and we all know what seed the winner of those usually end up playing in the 2nd round. This is definitely a big game for both teams.

As far as DePaul goes, they had lost 18 games in a row so they were long overdue for that win. It really didn't surprise me that much. After the WVU win, Cincy basically called it a season and I think they quit on Cronin for whatever reason. They just didn't play with any fire or emotion the last 4 games. They could have easily played their way into the tournament with some winnable games left on their schedule.......South Florida, Seton Hall, and then yesterday's game with DePaul. I'm still scratching my head wondering what happened to them after the way they played against the Mountaineers.

That's not the same as voting for the MVP 2 days before the season ended. The committee still has time to make an adjustment according to the last results on Sunday.

Coaches are allowed to write in notes though, if they wanted the second Pitt/UConn match up to matter then they could. Calhoun said coaches had the chance to write something along the lines of "If Pitt wins the 3/9 match up give it to Blair, if UConn wins it give it to Thabeet."
